video-lens CLAUDE.md

video-lens CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for coding agents from kar2phi/video-lens. It costs 447 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of project instructions for developing and installing the video-lens tool. It explains where source files belong, how the repository is organized, and which commands copy or build the finished tool.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for maintaining the video-lens source code, installing it for supported agents, updating its Raycast script, and generating the downloadable video-lens gallery.
Why use it?
It prevents edits from being made only in deployed copies and gives a repeatable way to install libraries, update agent skills, and rebuild the video gallery.

Getting it into your agent

One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00447 $0.00447
Opus 5 $0.00224 $0.00224
Sonnet 5 $0.00089 $0.00089
Haiku 4.5 $0.00045 $0.00045

Measured 5d ago against content hash 519a510daa34, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

video-lens CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Workflow

Source of truth is always this repo. Edit files here first — never in deployed locations like ~/.{agent}/skills/ or ~/.raycast/scripts/. Those are deploy targets, not sources.

After editing, sync to deployed locations:

  • skills/video-lens/ or template.htmltask install-skill-local AGENT=<agent>
  • skills/video-lens-gallery/index.htmltask build-index (regenerates ~/Downloads/video-lens/index.html)

Note: install-skill pulls from GitHub — push first or it installs the last published version.

Install commands

task install-libraries # installs Python dependencies (pip install -r requirements.txt)
task install-skill # installs skill for all detected agents via npx skills CLI
task install-skill-local AGENT=claude # copies skills/video-lens/ → ~/.claude/skills/video-lens/
task install-raycast # copies scripts/raycast-video-lens.sh → ~/.raycast/scripts/video-lens.sh
task install-raycast AGENT=copilot # installs Raycast script for a specific agent

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
