FreeloMCP: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

FreeloMCP CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from karlost/FreeloMCP. It costs 1,167 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for FreeloMCP, an unofficial server that connects AI assistants to the Freelo project-management API. MCP is a standard way for assistants to use external tools.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to install dependencies, run the MCP or REST server, reload development code, and run tests.
Why use it?
It gives coding agents the commands, architecture, and testing guidance needed to work consistently in the repository.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01167 $0.01167
Opus 5 $0.00583 $0.00583
Sonnet 5 $0.00233 $0.00233
Haiku 4.5 $0.00117 $0.00117

Measured 6d ago against content hash 3eabd7dff959, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

FreeloMCP CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

Freelo MCP Server is an unofficial community MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for the Freelo Czech project management API. It exposes two servers:

  1. MCP Server (mcp-server.js) — primary deliverable; uses stdio transport for AI assistant integration
  2. REST API Server (server.js) — Express proxy to the Freelo API

Commands

# Install dependencies
npm install

# Run MCP server (production)
npm run mcp

# Run MCP server (development, with auto-reload)
npm run mcp:dev

# Run REST API server
npm start # production
npm run dev # development with nodemon

# Tests
npm test # all tests
npm test -- tests/mcp-tools-simple.test.js # single test file
npm test -- --coverage # with coverage report

Architecture

MCP Server (mcp-server.js)

Entry point that initializes the MCP server and registers all tool categories. The initializeMcpServer() function is exported for testability; it only connects to stdio transport when run as main module. Version is read from package.json.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
