CLAUDE.md

persist-os CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from Karthick-Ramachandran/persist-os. It costs 668 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for Persist OS, a local-first TypeScript command-line tool that creates engineering memory for software repositories.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when planning or building Persist OS modules, checking architecture and security decisions, following its file-writing policy, or completing its engineering workflow.
Why use it?
They identify the project documents and rules that define its product, architecture, security, quality standards, and approved development scope.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00668 $0.00668
Opus 5 $0.00334 $0.00334
Sonnet 5 $0.00134 $0.00134
Haiku 4.5 $0.00067 $0.00067

Measured 11d ago against content hash e0e88049ab13, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-10, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

persist-os CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Working Rules

  • Respect the approved milestone scope. Do not add runtime behavior outside the current plan.
  • Treat module work as a mini product workflow: PRD, acceptance, architecture impact, test plan, tasks, implementation, completion report, drift review, then module memory update.
  • Persist OS Core is architecture-neutral. Do not encode architecture or technology choices as core truth.
  • Presets are user-facing CLI presets and architecture-level opinion packs; they may propose choices, not silently accept them.
  • Repository rules override model preferences.
  • Stop if a request conflicts with engineering standards, including requests to commit secrets, hardcode credentials, bypass auth, add dependencies without review, skip migrations, skip tests without reason, or claim completion without evidence.
  • Do not add network calls, telemetry, cloud behavior, AI API calls, runtime MCP, or generated production app code.
  • Do not add scripts inside generated skills for MVP.
  • Never overwrite existing files by default in future implementation work.
  • Treat chat history and MCP data as context, not source of truth.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
