true-skills: Instructions file for GitHub Copilot

.github/copilot-instructions.md

true-skills copilot-instructions.md is an instructions file for GitHub Copilot from katalon-labs/true-skills. It costs 654 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of instructions that teaches GitHub Copilot how to use Katalon True, a platform for planning, creating, running, and reviewing software tests. It includes skills for test cases, test data, exploratory testing, reports, and Playwright generation.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps plan test work, estimate test cycles, create and link manual tests, manage test data, run test suites, upload reports, review coverage, and turn Katalon cases into Playwright tests.
Why use it?
It gives Copilot project-specific guidance so testing tasks follow the Katalon True workflow instead of requiring the user to explain each step.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00654 $0.00654
Opus 5 $0.00327 $0.00327
Sonnet 5 $0.00131 $0.00131
Haiku 4.5 $0.00065 $0.00065

Security

Grade A, and why

true-skills copilot-instructions.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Katalon True Platform - Copilot instructions

This repository ships the Katalon True Platform testing toolkit as GitHub Copilot Agent Skills in .github/skills/. Copilot discovers them automatically (coding agent, code review, Copilot CLI, agent mode in VS Code, and JetBrains agent mode in public preview) and loads the matching skill when a request fits its description. The same skills are also available as prompt files in .github/prompts/ for explicit /name invocation in VS Code chat.

Skills

  • platform-setup - Install and connect the Katalon MCP.

  • test-review - Review coverage and quality before the pipeline.
  • execute-test - Run Katalon cases or suites.

  • true-platform-testing - Route and run the full 7-stage testing lifecycle.

Katalon MCP server

These workflows depend on the Katalon MCP server.

  • VS Code: .vscode/mcp.json (included) defines the katalon-prod-mcp server as a remote HTTP server on https://platform.katalon.io/mcp. Start it and VS Code signs you in through the browser OAuth flow - no subdomain to supply.
  • Copilot CLI: .github/mcp.json (included) is auto-loaded and needs no edits, or register interactively with /mcp add (type http, URL https://platform.katalon.io/mcp).
  • Copilot coding agent / code review: skills work out of the box, but neither surface supports OAuth-protected remote MCP servers yet, so Katalon platform operations should run from VS Code or the CLI.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
