ecspresso is a deployment tool for Amazon ECS that manages services and task definitions as code in JSON, YAML, or Jsonnet files. It helps teams version, validate, preview, deploy, scale, and roll back ECS infrastructure. The catalogue entries provide agent skills and instructions for working with ecspresso.
Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5 | $0.00931 | $0.00931 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00465 | $0.00465 |

Grade A, and why
ecspresso CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 112 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Project Overview
ecspresso is a deployment tool for Amazon ECS written in Go. It manages ECS services through configuration files (YAML, JSON, or Jsonnet) that define task definitions and service definitions.
Git Workflow
- Default branch:
v2 - Do not commit directly to
v2. Always create a feature branch first. - When changing
action.yml, force-push the same commit to thev2-action-testingbranch as well. CI for the GitHub Action runs against that branch, so pushing there is howaction.ymlchanges get exercised end-to-end.
Build Commands
# Build the binary
make
# Install to GOPATH/bin
make install
# Run all tests
make test
# Run a single test
go test -v -run TestFunctionName ./...
# Format code (run before committing)
go fmt ./...
# Build release packages
make packages
Architecture
Core Components
- App (
ecspresso.go): Main application struct that holds AWS clients (ECS, CodeDeploy, CloudWatch Logs, IAM, etc.) and orchestrates operations - Config (
config.go): Configuration loading and validation. Supports YAML, JSON, and Jsonnet formats with template functions - CLI (
cli.go,cliv2.go): Command-line interface using Kong. Each subcommand (deploy, run, diff, etc.) has its own option struct and handler
Command Structure
Commands are defined as option structs in their respective files:
deploy.go- Deploy/update ECS services (rolling update, Blue/Green via ECS or CodeDeploy)run.go- Run standalone ECS tasksrollback.go- Rollback to previous task definitiondiff.go- Show differences between local and remote definitionsverify.go- Validate configurations and AWS resourcesinit.go- Generate config from existing ECS service
Template System
Definition files support Go template syntax via github.com/kayac/go-config:
{{ env "VAR" "default" }}- Environment variable with default{{ must_env "VAR" }}- Required environment variable{{ tfstate "resource.attr" }}- Terraform state lookup (plugin)
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

ecspresso CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository kayac/ecspresso (1,118 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 931 tokens to every session, about $0.0047 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
