CLAUDE.md

spotify-bulk-actions-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from khglynn/spotify-bulk-actions-mcp. It costs 577 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Instructions for a Python MCP server that performs bulk actions in Spotify, the music streaming service. It can work with libraries, playlists, song searches, and listening data.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to export library data, analyze listening activity, follow or unfollow artists, save tracks, search songs, and create or manage playlists in bulk.
Why use it?
It helps handle many Spotify items at once and sends uncertain song matches for human review instead of silently accepting them.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00577 $0.00577
Opus 5 $0.00289 $0.00289
Sonnet 5 $0.00115 $0.00115
Haiku 4.5 $0.00058 $0.00058

Measured 10d ago against content hash 72e114f24339, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-10, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

spotify-bulk-actions-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Spotify Bulk Actions MCP

Created: 2025-12-12

What This Is

Python MCP server for bulk Spotify operations - batch playlist creation, library exports, confidence-scored song matching.

Key Features

Feature Description
Confidence scoring HIGH/MEDIUM/LOW on song matches
Human-in-the-loop Exports uncertain matches to CSV for review
Bulk operations Handles 500+ songs with rate limiting
Library exports Complete library data extraction

Tools (33)

  • Library Analysis: check_auth_status, get_followed_artists, get_saved_tracks, get_library_artists, get_albums_by_song_count, export_library_summary
  • Listening Insights: get_top_artists, get_top_tracks, get_recently_played
  • Bulk Library Actions: follow_artists, unfollow_artists, save_tracks, unsave_tracks
  • Search: search_track, search_track_fuzzy, batch_search_tracks, get_track_preview_url
  • Playlist Creation: create_playlist, add_tracks_to_playlist, import_and_create_playlist, create_playlist_from_search_results, add_reviewed_tracks
  • Playlist Management: get_playlist_info, update_playlist, get_playlist_tracks, export_playlist_to_csv, compare_playlists, find_duplicate_tracks, remove_duplicate_tracks, remove_tracks_from_playlist, reorder_playlist_tracks
  • Utilities: parse_song_list_csv, export_review_csv

API Notes

  • Migrated for Spotify's February 2026 Web API changes: playlist create uses POST /me/playlists (current_user_playlist_create), playlist reads use playlist_items. Old per-user endpoints still respond for this grandfathered app but are slated for removal — don't reintroduce them.
  • Development Mode limits (2026): max 5 allowlisted users per Client ID, owner must hold Premium, search limit capped at 10.
  • All 33 tools carry readOnlyHint/destructiveHint annotations (20 read-only / 9 additive / 4 destructive) — keep new tools annotated.
  • Known cleanup candidate (hosted mode): export_* / CSV tools write to the container-local exports/ dir, which is ephemeral and unreachable on Cloud Run. They should return CSV content inline when MCP_TRANSPORT=http. Not yet done.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
