freee-mcp: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

freee-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from knishioka/freee-mcp. It costs 994 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for developing freee-mcp, a TypeScript MCP server that connects AI tools to freee accounting APIs.

In plain words
What is it for?
They help build and run the server, validate TypeScript, run Jest tests, configure authentication, follow the existing code style, and understand the roles of its main source files.
Why use it?
They give coding agents the project's build, test, lint, type-checking, security, style, and authentication requirements in one place.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00994 $0.00994
Opus 5 $0.00497 $0.00497
Sonnet 5 $0.00199 $0.00199
Haiku 4.5 $0.00099 $0.00099

Measured 12d ago against content hash 8679900cb718, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-12, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

freee-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Guidance for AI coding agents working in this repository. Keep this file concise and avoid duplicating README.md.

Commands

  • npm run build: Compile TypeScript into dist/
  • npm run dev: Run local development server with tsx watch
  • npm start: Run compiled server from dist/index.js
  • npm run lint: Lint src/**/*.ts with ESLint
  • npm run typecheck: TypeScript checks without emit
  • npm test: Run Jest tests
  • npm run setup-auth: Run OAuth setup helper script

Code Style

  • Follow existing TypeScript patterns and ESLint rules.
  • Use 2-space indentation, single quotes, and semicolons.
  • Avoid adding new any unless required by an external typing limitation.
  • Keep changes minimal and scoped to the issue.

Pre-commit Hook Process

The commit is blocked unless all lint-staged checks pass:

  1. eslint --fix on staged src/**/*.{ts,tsx}
  2. npm run typecheck
  3. gitleaks detect --source . --verbose --no-banner --redact

Architecture

This project is an MCP server for freee accounting APIs.

File Purpose
src/index.ts MCP server bootstrap, env validation, tool registration, request handling
src/api/freeeClient.ts Axios clients, auth interceptors, token refresh and retry behavior
src/auth/tokenManager.ts Encrypted token persistence and expiry checks per company
src/schemas.ts Zod input schemas for tools
src/types/freee.ts Type definitions for freee entities and API payloads

MCP SDK 1.x Tool Registration Pattern

  • Keep McpServer initialization and capability structure aligned with current SDK 1.x usage.
  • Keep the local registerTool(...) wrapper in src/index.ts; it intentionally avoids TS2589 inference blowups from cumulative Zod-heavy registrations.
  • Register tools through this wrapper to preserve runtime behavior and compile stability.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
