contextos-agents: Instructions file for Gemini CLI

GEMINI.md

contextos-agents GEMINI.md is an instructions file for Gemini CLI from kok-o/contextos-agents. It costs 324 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Project instructions for the Gemini command-line coding assistant in a specific source repository. They tell it how to select skills, inspect code, preserve unrelated edits, and run the repository's validation checks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when guiding Gemini through changes in the ContextOS agents repository, including validation, security scanning, scope checks, and test decisions.
Why use it?
They give the assistant repository-specific rules that would otherwise need to be explained repeatedly.

Written for Gemini CLI: the file is GEMINI.md. Also seen: mentions AGENTS.md.

This is kok-o/contextos-agents's own configuration. It tells Gemini CLI how to work on contextos-agents itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything contextos-agents configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00324 $0.00324
Opus 5.5 $0.00130 $0.00130
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00065 $0.00065
Haiku 4.5 $0.00032 $0.00032

Security

Grade A, and why

contextos-agents GEMINI.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Gemini project instructions

Follow .agents/AGENTS.md and select relevant skills for the actual task. Canonical source bundles live in .agents/core/skills; native and Gemini projections are generated. Preserve unrelated edits and existing user authorization.

Use engineering-workflow for proportional implementation and verification, security for protected boundaries, ponytail-mindset for complexity choices, and context-os for manifests, routing, profiles, and exports. gemini-precision adds inspection/execution guidance when useful; it does not promise measured model quality or speed gains.

Inspect actual symbols, callers, versions, and tests before changing code. Implement required integrations completely. Run relevant checks according to risk, including applicable project gates. A typo does not require a full feature lifecycle or every test suite. Roles are optional; narrate meaningful decisions in ordinary language.

For this source checkout, source/sync validation is node .agents/ctx.js validate. Staged secret/placeholder checking is node bin/index.js scan --staged --enforce --placeholders. Supply --scope with the actual scope JSON for write boundaries; inspect unstaged work separately. A green validator or empty staged index does not prove application behavior.

Report changed behavior, commands/results, verification scope, and remaining limitations. Publishing, deployment, destructive actions, and external messages need authorization for that action unless already given. Do not request repeated approval merely because a phase or role changed. Follow user/repository style preferences without introducing a model-specific typography requirement.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
