Enterprise Ansible Hardening Instructions

Apply these rules to config/local.yml, config/ansible.cfg, and any provisioning templates that configure the konstruktoid.hardening collection.

Authoring priorities

  • Module-first implementation; avoid shell/command unless no safe module exists.
  • Always use the fully-qualified collection name (FQCN, for example ansible.builtin.git) for every module call.
  • Declarative, idempotent tasks with descriptive names.
  • Double-quoted YAML strings.
  • Pin konstruktoid.hardening to an explicit tagged version, never a floating branch.
  • The collection ships independent, single-purpose roles and no umbrella role. Adding or removing a role in config/local.yml changes the hardening scope, so treat it like flipping a hardening variable.

Conservative security handling
