CLAUDE.md

ResearcherSkill CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from krzysztofdudek/ResearcherSkill. It costs 853 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Development instructions for ResearcherSkill, a repository whose main product is a researcher skill for Claude Code and GitHub Copilot CLI. They describe the self-contained skill file, plugin manifests, marketplace entries, and versioning requirements.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when changing the researcher skill, updating its Claude Code or Copilot CLI packaging, or releasing a new version.
Why use it?
They clarify which file controls the skill and keep the two plugin distribution formats and their release versions consistent.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00853 $0.00853
Opus 5 $0.00426 $0.00426
Sonnet 5 $0.00171 $0.00171
Haiku 4.5 $0.00085 $0.00085

Security

Grade A, and why

ResearcherSkill CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

ResearcherSkill

Purpose

This repository exists solely so the author can develop and version the researcher skill. The canonical file is skills/researcher/SKILL.md — people install it as a Claude Code plugin (or copy that one file into their agent's skill dir). Nothing in this repo (CLAUDE.md, CHANGELOG.md, README.md, CI, etc.) may affect the skill's mechanics. All behavior must be self-contained in skills/researcher/SKILL.md.

Plugin scaffolding

This repo is installable as a Claude Code plugin and as a GitHub Copilot CLI plugin. Layout:

  • .claude-plugin/plugin.json — plugin manifest (name, version, description, keywords). version here MUST match the latest released version in CHANGELOG.md and is bumped together with it.
  • .claude-plugin/marketplace.json — single-plugin marketplace listing for Claude Code, so the repo can be added via /plugin install researcher@researcher-marketplace.
  • .github/plugin/marketplace.json — single-plugin marketplace listing for GitHub Copilot CLI (Copilot reads this path), so the repo can be added via copilot plugin marketplace add krzysztofdudek/ResearcherSkill then copilot plugin install researcher@researcher-marketplace. Mirrors the Claude listing but additionally carries version and a skills array (./skills/researcher). Its plugin version MUST be kept in lockstep with plugin.json.
  • .codex-plugin/plugin.json — plugin manifest for OpenAI Codex CLI (Codex reads the plugin manifest only from .codex-plugin/). Bundles the skill via "skills": "./skills/"; Codex discovers the marketplace from the existing .claude-plugin/marketplace.json (its legacy-compatible path), so the repo installs via codex plugin marketplace add krzysztofdudek/ResearcherSkill then codex plugin install researcher@researcher-marketplace. Its version MUST be kept in lockstep with plugin.json.
  • .cursor-plugin/plugin.json — plugin manifest for Cursor (single-plugin-at-root: manifest at the repo root, no Cursor marketplace file; components are auto-discovered, so skills/researcher/ is picked up automatically). Installed locally via ~/.cursor/plugins/local/ or published to the Cursor Marketplace. Its version MUST be kept in lockstep with plugin.json.
  • skills/researcher/SKILL.md — the canonical skill body. Editing this file IS editing the skill.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
