icm-template CLAUDE.md

icm-template CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for coding agents from ktnCodes/icm-template. It costs 444 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of project instructions for the Interpretable Context Methodology, a way to organize an AI workflow with named folders and context files. It describes the project's purpose, structure, and rules.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to scaffold and maintain files such as IDENTITY.md and CONTEXT.md, route tasks through the project's five context layers, and keep those files synchronized with the project.
Why use it?
It gives coding agents a shared map of the project and explains where task guidance and maintenance instructions belong. This reduces uncertainty when an agent works across many folders or tasks.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00444 $0.00444
Opus 5 $0.00222 $0.00222
Sonnet 5 $0.00089 $0.00089
Haiku 4.5 $0.00044 $0.00044

Measured 3d ago against content hash 6fa0792c4e22, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

icm-template CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Rules

  • The SKILL.md files are the primary products. Everything else is supporting documentation.
  • icm-scaffold generates ICM layers on the user's project. icm-sync and icm-context-scaffold maintain them over time.
  • The skills generate files on the user's project — they do not generate files in this repo.
  • Docs are educational — they explain the methodology for humans who want to understand the why.
  • Do not add Python tools, templates, or scaffolding scripts. The skills replace all of those.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
