Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01271 $0.01271
Opus 5 $0.00635 $0.00635
Sonnet 5 $0.00254 $0.00254
Haiku 4.5 $0.00127 $0.00127

Measured 11d ago against content hash d247f85913b6, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-11, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

cc-best-practices-marketplace CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

This is a Claude Code plugin marketplace containing the cc-best-practices plugin -- a workflow system based on Boris Cherny's Claude Code recommendations. It is a content-only project (no build, no tests, no dependencies). All files are Markdown, JSON, or templates.

Repository Structure

.claude-plugin/marketplace.json -- marketplace manifest (lists available plugins)
plugins/cc-best-practices/
.claude-plugin/plugin.json -- plugin manifest (name, version, metadata)
hooks/hooks.json -- SessionStart hook (lightweight banner only)
  skills/ -- 5 skills + 1 template, each in its own directory
    bp-setup/SKILL.md -- deploys CLAUDE.md + rules/ + hooks + agents
bp-verify/SKILL.md -- run full verification loop
    bp-learn/SKILL.md -- capture team rules (CLAUDE.md/rules/lint)
bp-refactor/SKILL.md -- safe refactoring with characterization tests
bp-audit/SKILL.md -- setup health check (budget, duplicates, graduation)
_template/SKILL.md -- template for creating new skills

Architecture: Three-Layer Enforcement

The plugin uses three enforcement modes with different strengths:

  • Advisory (~38-line CLAUDE.md template + .claude/rules/) -- deployed by /bp-setup, loaded every session
  • Prompting (Stop/PreToolUse hooks) -- deployed by /bp-setup via enforcement profiles (minimal/standard/strict)
  • Deterministic (PostToolUse hooks, lint rules) -- deployed by /bp-setup, cannot be bypassed

Skills load lazily only when invoked. SessionStart hook fires once per session (lightweight banner). All enforcement hooks are opt-in via bp-setup.

See DESIGN_DECISIONS.md for full rationale.

Design Principle: Ramp, Not a Wall

The plugin provides workflow discipline without imposing opinions or forcing adoption. Every feature degrades gracefully:

  • Don't want hooks? → Uninstall plugin, keep CLAUDE.md and rules
  • Don't want rules? → Delete the files. CLAUDE.md still works
  • Working solo? → Everything defaults to personal/local settings
  • Working on a team? → Everything defaults to shared settings with PR review

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
