kloakt: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

kloakt AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from KultMember6Banger/kloakt. It costs 879 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A project-specific instruction set for Kloakt, a Rust/V8 headless browser for fetching, rendering, and extracting web pages. It documents the project’s architecture, build commands, and available command-line operations.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when changing Kloakt’s Rust workspace, building its release binary, or working on commands such as fetching, scraping, screenshots, sessions, and page extraction.
Why use it?
It gives a coding agent the context needed to build and modify Kloakt correctly. It also explains how the browser handles page extraction, JavaScript applications, and persistent sessions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00879 $0.00879
Opus 5 $0.00439 $0.00439
Sonnet 5 $0.00176 $0.00176
Haiku 4.5 $0.00088 $0.00088

Security

Grade A, and why

kloakt AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Kloakt

Cloaked headless browser for AI agents. Rust/V8, 30MB memory, stealth TLS fingerprinting.

Build

cargo build --release
cargo build --release --features stealth # anti-detection + tracker blocking

Requires Rust 1.75+. First build takes ~5 min (V8 compiles from source, cached after).

Binary output: target/release/kloakt

Architecture

Rust workspace with 6 crates:

  • obscura-dom — DOM tree implementation
  • obscura-net — HTTP client, TLS, cookie jar
  • obscura-browser — page lifecycle, navigation, JS evaluation
  • obscura-cdp — Chrome DevTools Protocol server
  • obscura-js — V8 bindings via deno_core
  • obscura-cli — CLI binary (kloakt): extract/fetch/scrape/serve/snapshot/screenshot/session/benchmark commands (CDP websocket client for sessions in session.rs)

The extract command runs a 3-phase pipeline: noise removal → text-density scoring → markdown conversion. SPA fallback pre-extracts meta/JSON-LD/noscript before DOM manipulation.

Persistent sessions: kloakt serve holds named BrowserContexts (the CDP Session domain in obscura-cdp/src/domains/session.rs); the kloakt session client (obscura-cli/src/session.rs) drives them over a websocket, persisting ~/.kloakt/sessions/<name>.json so cookies + page/JS state survive across separate invocations. snapshot emits an accessibility/structure tree; screenshot delegates to system Chrome (no rasterizer in-tree).

Key Commands

kloakt extract <URL> --json --main --max-chars 3000
kloakt fetch <URL> --dump markdown --eval "document.title"
kloakt serve --port 9222 --stealth
kloakt scrape url1 url2 --concurrency 10 --format json
kloakt snapshot <URL> --interactive # accessibility/structure tree
kloakt screenshot <URL> --output shot.png # real PNG via system Chrome
kloakt session open s --url <URL> # then: nav/eval/text/snapshot/click/type/list/close

Python API

from kloakt import (
extract, extract_fields, fetch, scrape, search, crawl,
    snapshot, screenshot, session_open, session_close, # ...session_nav/_eval/_text/_click/_type
)

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
