delightful-design-system: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

delightful-design-system AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from kylesnav/delightful-design-system. It costs 278 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for maintaining the Delightful design system, a shared collection of interface components, colors, motion rules, and animations. They identify the HTML reference pages as the source of truth and describe how the repository should be changed and tested.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when editing design-system components, color or motion tokens, animations, redirects, or release versions, including visual checks across light, dark, mobile, and reduced-motion views.
Why use it?
They reduce inconsistent edits across the design-system pages and help protect shared visual rules. They also clarify which files are authoritative and which checks are expected before release.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00278 $0.00278
Opus 5 $0.00139 $0.00139
Sonnet 5 $0.00056 $0.00056
Haiku 4.5 $0.00028 $0.00028

Measured 8d ago against content hash b457c4f9440f, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

delightful-design-system AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Delightful

This repo powers https://delightful.build/ and contains the source-of-truth HTML references for the Delightful design system.

Source of Truth

  • index.html is the GitHub Pages root redirect to delightful-design-system.html.
  • delightful-design-system.html is the canonical component/token/interaction reference.
  • delightful-color.html, delightful-motion.html, and delightful-animation.html are companion references.
  • Standalone platform ports live in sibling repos. Do not add local copies back here.

Validate

npm install
npm test

Use Browser screenshots for visual changes. Check the root redirect, design-system, color, motion, and animation pages in light, dark, mobile, and reduced-motion views when their shared tokens or layout systems change.

Editing Rules

  • Colors use OKLCH in source.
  • Keep token flow primitives -> semantic -> component.
  • HTML files are self-contained with inline CSS/JS.
  • Keep CNAME unchanged.
  • scripts/tokens.mjs is kept for token extraction. The old monorepo sync workflow is retired.

Release Notes

npm run bump <version> updates only this repo's root package version and creates a site tag. Platform ports are released from their own repos.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
