agentic-engineering-for-apache-kafka: Instructions file for Claude Code

AGENTS.md

agentic-engineering-for-apache-kafka AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode from lensesio/agentic-engineering-for-apache-kafka. It costs 2,495 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for a collection of skills that help AI coding tools work with Apache Kafka, a system for moving and processing streams of data. The repository contains reusable Markdown skill files for Claude Code and Cursor.

In plain words
What is it for?
They guide work on Kafka skill files, plugin manifests, documentation, project structure, and integrations with Kafka tool servers.
Why use it?
They explain the repository layout and conventions so an agent can add or update Kafka-focused skills without breaking either marketplace package.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.02495 $0.02495
Opus 5 $0.01247 $0.01247
Sonnet 5 $0.00499 $0.00499
Haiku 4.5 $0.00249 $0.00249

Measured 7d ago against content hash 7e2a46fcaeb9, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

agentic-engineering-for-apache-kafka AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

A drop-in collection of agent skills that turn AI agents and tools such as Claude Code and Cursor into Kafka-specialised engineering assistants. The repository is the plugin - the same skills/ payload at the repo root is consumed by both the Claude Code marketplace (.claude-plugin/) and the Cursor marketplace (.cursor-plugin/).

Maintained by Lenses.io. Skills are MCP-agnostic by design but observed against the Lenses MCP Server; any Kafka MCP server that exposes an equivalent tool surface works.

This repo is a Markdown skills payload. It deliberately ships no source code, build system, tests, or runtime configuration - just SKILL.md files, their references/, plugin manifests, and documentation.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
