Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00562 $0.00562
Opus 5 $0.00281 $0.00281
Sonnet 5 $0.00112 $0.00112
Haiku 4.5 $0.00056 $0.00056

Security

Grade A, and why

better-skills AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md

better-skills is an agent second brain: authenticated users manage a graph of reusable skills from a CLI and a web app, backed by a Hono API.

Essentials

  • Package manager is Bun workspaces ([email protected]); use bun, not npm/pnpm/yarn.
  • Use root Turbo scripts for cross-workspace tasks.
  • Default validation after code changes: bun run check-types then bun run check.
  • No shared test runner is defined yet; add package-local tests when introducing new behavior.
  • Never commit secrets or .env files.

Workspace map

  • apps/cli: command-line interface built with @clack/prompts, connected to the server via tRPC.
  • apps/web: Next.js web console for managing skills, graph links, and account state.
  • apps/server: Hono host for Better Auth and tRPC endpoints.
  • packages/api: shared tRPC router and context.
  • packages/auth: Better Auth configuration and adapter wiring.
  • packages/db: Drizzle schema and migration workflows for Neon Postgres.
  • packages/env: typed runtime env contracts for server, web, and CLI.
  • packages/config: shared TypeScript config.

Canonical commands

  • bun run dev, bun run dev:web, bun run dev:server, bun run dev:cli
  • bun cli (runs the CLI directly without turbo)
  • bun run build, bun run check-types, bun run check
  • bun run db:push, bun run db:generate, bun run db:migrate, bun run db:studio

Required env shape

  • Server env: DATABASE_URL, BETTER_AUTH_SECRET, BETTER_AUTH_URL, CORS_ORIGIN.
  • Web env: NEXT_PUBLIC_SERVER_URL.
  • CLI env: SERVER_URL (defaults to http://localhost:3000).

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
