agent-context-kb-skill: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

agent-context-kb-skill AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from lesliebiubiubiu/agent-context-kb-skill. It costs 629 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A contributor guide for a Codex skill that keeps a project knowledge base for coding agents. It describes the repository layout, development commands, testing, and naming rules.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when developing or maintaining the agent-context knowledge-base skill, including its command-line tools, tests, and release files.
Why use it?
It helps agents read the project’s stored context before changing code and update that context when important knowledge changes.

Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md. Also seen: mentions AGENTS.md; mentions Codex.

This is lesliebiubiubiu/agent-context-kb-skill's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on agent-context-kb-skill itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00629 $0.00629
Opus 5 $0.00315 $0.00315
Sonnet 5 $0.00126 $0.00126
Haiku 4.5 $0.00063 $0.00063

Measured 8d ago against content hash f372c51123cb, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

agent-context-kb-skill AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Repository Guidelines

Project Structure & Module Organization

This repository contains a Codex skill for lightweight agent knowledge bases.

Current layout:

  • skills/agent-context-kb/ - the Codex skill as published to users. Ship only what the skill needs at runtime: SKILL.md, UI metadata, scripts/agent_kb.py, and scripts/transcript_reads.py (imported by the CLI).
  • skills/agent-context-kb/scripts/agent_kb.py - the CLI for KB init, validation, notes, and compile.
  • tools/ - repository-only dev tooling that is never published with the skill: smoke_test.py and the private compliance_analyzer.py.
  • evals/ - Release 2 eval bundles, runners, and summary result JSON files.
  • AGENTS.md - contributor and agent guidance for this repository.

Project Knowledge Base

.agent-kb/ is this project's memory for coding agents: read it before working, update it when your work changes what a future agent needs to know.

At task start, before broad code search:

  1. Read .agent-kb/start.md.
  2. Read .agent-kb/routes.yaml; pick the routes relevant to this task.
  3. Read those KB docs, then search code for gaps.

Before finishing:

  • Did this work change what a future agent needs to know? If yes, update the relevant topic file, or add a note in .agent-kb/inbox/ when the right place is unclear. start.md defines what belongs in the KB.

Build, Test, and Development Commands

There is no package manager or build system. Use the bundled script and skill validator for checks:

  • python3 -m py_compile skills/agent-context-kb/scripts/agent_kb.py tools/smoke_test.py - check Python syntax.
  • python3 tools/smoke_test.py - run temporary-directory CLI smoke, upgrade, and edge checks.
  • python3 skills/agent-context-kb/scripts/agent_kb.py validate --root . - validate this repo's KB.
  • git status --short - review tracked and untracked changes.

Do not add new tooling unless generated artifacts or automated validation require it.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
