Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00634 | $0.00634 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00317 | $0.00317 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00127 | $0.00127 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00063 | $0.00063 |
Grade A, and why
CaddyUI-MCP AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 44 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
AGENTS.md — CaddyUI-MCP
Cross-tool agent instructions (Claude Code, Copilot agent mode). Gotcha: Copilot inline suggestions do NOT read this file — any rule that must hold for inline completions is mirrored into
.github/copilot-instructions.md. Keep them in sync.
Project
An MCP server that wraps CaddyUI's /api/v1 REST API so an MCP client can manage a Caddy
reverse proxy (proxy/redirection hosts, raw routes, certificates). Python 3.13 + FastMCP v3.
Canonical repo on Gitea (gitea.strant.casa/loryanstrant/CaddyUI-MCP); GitHub is a one-way
push mirror — never review/merge PRs there. Modelled on the ESPHome-MCP homelab template.
How to work here
- Use the
plan-before-codingandwrite-a-test-planskills (global, in~/.copilot/skills/— also available to Claude Code). Applydev-standards/standards/{core,generic}.md. - Smallest shippable slice; one thing at a time. No new tools/deps unless they replace something. Pin dependencies; prefer boring, proven libraries.
- At end of a task, capture any reusable lesson in
DECISIONS.md.
Layout
src/caddyui_mcp/client.py— async httpx client for/api/v1(Bearer auth, typed errors).src/caddyui_mcp/server.py— FastMCP tools (one per operation) +INSTRUCTIONS.src/caddyui_mcp/__main__.py—main()(stdio) /main_web()(HTTP :8080) with a connectivity pre-flight.healthcheck.py— drives the full MCP handshake for the container healthcheck.
Build / test / deploy
make check= lint + format-check + typecheck + test (the gate).- Live tests need a real instance:
CADDYUI_URL=… CADDYUI_TOKEN=… pytest -m live(they create and delete a throwaway proxy host — safe, self-cleaning). - Deploy as a container via Dockhand to SHOCKWAVE; front
/mcpwith Caddy atcaddyui-mcp.strant.casa; register into MetaMCP. Verify the real artefact end-to-end (initialize+tools/listthrough the deployed endpoint), not just an HTTP 200.
Secrets
CADDYUI_TOKEN lives in Vaultwarden (CaddyUI API token (Claude Code)) and in a gitignored
.env — never in the repo. Reference as ${CADDYUI_TOKEN}. Mint tokens in CaddyUI at
/api-tokens (scope full for management).
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

CaddyUI-MCP AGENTS.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository loryanstrant/CaddyUI-MCP (3 stars, last pushed 7d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 634 tokens to every session, about $0.0032 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
