ai-instructions spring-boot-application.instructions.md

ai-instructions spring-boot-application.instructions.md is an instructions file for GitHub Copilot from lsampaioweb/ai-instructions. It costs 304 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of rules for the main startup class of a Spring Boot application, including its package location and annotations.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for naming and placing the entry point, limiting its responsibilities, and configuring features such as scheduling or asynchronous work in the right place.
Why use it?
It prevents confusing startup behavior caused by duplicate application classes, incorrect component scanning, or unrelated startup logic.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00304 $0.00304
Opus 5 $0.00152 $0.00152
Sonnet 5 $0.00061 $0.00061
Haiku 4.5 $0.00030 $0.00030

Measured 2d ago against content hash c4772a688029, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-05, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

ai-instructions spring-boot-application.instructions.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Spring Boot Application Entry-Point Engine

Naming Conventions

  • Name the main class after the module using the *Application suffix with a meaningful module prefix (e.g., HolidaysApplication, AccountingApplication).
  • Do not use the bare name Application.

Rules

  • Place the main class in the root of the base package (e.g., br.com.lsampaioweb.holidays), not inside a feature sub-package.
  • Declare the main class as public.
  • Annotate the main class with @SpringBootApplication only.
  • Keep the main class body limited to the main method that calls SpringApplication.run.
  • Place @Enable* annotations (e.g., @EnableScheduling, @EnableAsync, @EnableConfigurationProperties) on dedicated @Configuration classes that own the corresponding concern.
  • Rely on @SpringBootApplication's default component scan.
  • Do not specify scanBasePackages unless a cross-module scan is explicitly required and approved.

Safety Guards

  • Never declare more than one @SpringBootApplication class per runnable module.
  • Never override the default component-scan root without explicit user approval.
  • Never implement CommandLineRunner or ApplicationRunner in the main class.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
