Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00611 | $0.00611 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00305 | $0.00305 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00122 | $0.00122 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00061 | $0.00061 |
Grade A, and why
f1-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 46 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
F1 Analytics MCP Server
Project Overview
An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server providing 118+ Formula 1 analytics tools powered by FastF1 and Ergast APIs. Installable via pip install -e . with a f1-mcp CLI entry point (stdio transport). Also supports SSE transport via python server.py.
Architecture
f1_mcp/ → Python package (pip-installable)
server.py → Entry point, registers all tool modules, main() for stdio
config.py → FastF1 cache init
connectors/ → Data sources (FastF1Loader, ErgastClient)
core/ → Caching layer (SessionCacheManager, TelemetryCacheManager)
models/schemas.py → Pydantic schemas
services/ → Business logic (14 service classes)
tools/ → MCP tool registrations (14 modules, 1:1 with services)
server.py → Backwards-compat wrapper (SSE mode)
tests/ → E2E test suite
plots/ → Generated visualization PNGs
cache/ → FastF1 disk cache
Key Patterns
- Services contain all logic; tools are thin wrappers registering with
@mcp.tool() session_cacheandtelemetry_cacheare singletons incore/— thread-safe with locks- All DataFrame→JSON conversion must go through
core/serialization.py:sanitize_df()to avoid Timedelta/NaN/float-int serialization errors - Tool parameters use:
year: int, grand_prix: str, session: str(session = "R", "Q", "FP1", etc.)
Running
pip install -e . # Install in dev mode
f1-mcp # Start MCP server (stdio, for MCP clients)
python server.py # Start MCP server (SSE, port 8000)
python -m pytest tests/ -v # Run E2E tests
python -m pytest tests/ -v -k "test_lap" # Run specific test group
Common Pitfalls
- FastF1
LapNumber,Position,Stintcolumns are float64 (not int) — always cast before JSON Timedeltacolumns (LapTime,SectorXTime,PitInTime) are not JSON-serializable — convert to string- Telemetry arrays from different laps have different lengths — always interpolate to common distance before comparing
NaN/NaTvalues must be converted toNonefor JSON- DataFrames from
get_circuit_info()marshal data are DataFrames, not dicts — must convert
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

f1-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository Luffy610/f1-mcp (0 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 611 tokens to every session, about $0.0031 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
