oci-mcp-blueprint: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

oci-mcp-blueprint AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from luigisaetta/oci-mcp-blueprint. It costs 1,663 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for building and deploying a custom MCP server in Python on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. They define the project’s purpose, documentation language, and specification-led development process.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when adding features, fixing bugs, changing deployment, or updating the MCP protocol in this repository.
Why use it?
They keep coding work focused and consistent with the project’s goals. They also remind contributors to update specifications and deployment instructions when behaviour changes.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01663 $0.01663
Opus 5 $0.00831 $0.00831
Sonnet 5 $0.00333 $0.00333
Haiku 4.5 $0.00166 $0.00166

Security

Grade A, and why

oci-mcp-blueprint AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md

This repository contains a blueprint and implementation guidance for building and deploying a custom MCP server implemented in Python on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Repository purpose

Keep the repository focused on one goal: provide the software infrastructure, sample implementation, and deployment factory needed to build and deploy a custom MCP server on OCI Enterprise AI.

All changes must preserve this purpose. Avoid adding unrelated frameworks, demos, deployment targets, or abstractions unless they are explicitly required by the specification being implemented.

Language and documentation

  • All documentation and Markdown files must be written in English.
  • Keep documentation practical and close to the implementation.
  • Public behaviour must be documented when it changes.
  • Local execution instructions and OCI deployment instructions must be updated whenever a feature affects runtime behaviour.

Spec-driven development workflow

Follow this workflow for significant features, fixes, refactorings, deployment changes, and protocol changes:

  1. Read the relevant existing specification.
  2. If no relevant specification exists, create one under specs/ before implementation.
  3. Review the specification for scope, behaviour, acceptance criteria, error handling, configuration, and test expectations.
  4. Implement code according to the specification.
  5. Add or update unit tests.
  6. Run the relevant formatting, linting, testing, and coverage checks.
  7. Update CHANGELOG.md when the change is significant.
  8. Summarise what changed and which checks were run.

Code must not be generated for significant behaviour until the relevant specification exists and has clear acceptance criteria.

Codex working rules

When working in this repository, Codex should:

  • Inspect the existing project structure before editing.
  • Prefer small, coherent changes over broad rewrites.
  • Reuse existing modules, helpers, configuration patterns, and test fixtures before adding new ones.
  • Preserve user changes already present in the working tree.
  • Avoid speculative changes that are not requested by the user or required by the specification.
  • Avoid introducing unrelated abstractions, frameworks, deployment targets, or examples.
  • Do not create commits unless explicitly asked.
  • Do not add new production dependencies without a clear reason.
  • Do not run destructive commands or discard existing changes unless explicitly requested.
  • Do not invent details about MCP, OCI, IAM, networking, or deployment behaviour.
  • When uncertain, document the assumption, leave a clear TODO, or ask for clarification.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
