Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5 | $0.01067 | $0.01067 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00534 | $0.00534 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00213 | $0.00213 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00107 | $0.00107 |
Grade A, and why
everything-codex AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 133 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
everything-codex
A comprehensive configuration toolkit for OpenAI Codex CLI with 60+ skills, hierarchical rules, execution policies, and structured workflows.
Quick Start
- Install:
./scripts/install.sh - Inside Codex:
/configure-codexto customize - Use skills:
/plan,/code-review,/tdd,/security-review
Coding Standards
Immutability (CRITICAL)
ALWAYS create new objects, NEVER mutate existing ones. Immutable data prevents hidden side effects, makes debugging easier, and enables safe concurrency.
File Organization
MANY SMALL FILES > FEW LARGE FILES:
- High cohesion, low coupling
- 200-400 lines typical, 800 max
- Organize by feature/domain, not by type
Error Handling
ALWAYS handle errors explicitly at every level. Provide user-friendly messages in UI code, detailed context in server logs. Never silently swallow errors.
Input Validation
ALWAYS validate at system boundaries. Use schema-based validation. Fail fast with clear error messages. Never trust external data.
Git Workflow
Commit Format
<type>: <description>
<optional body>
Types: feat, fix, refactor, docs, test, chore, perf, ci
Pull Request Process
- Analyze full commit history (not just latest commit)
- Use
git diff [base-branch]...HEADto see all changes - Draft comprehensive PR summary with test plan
- Push with
-uflag for new branches
Feature Implementation
- Plan first -- use
/planskill - TDD approach -- use
/tddskill (RED -> GREEN -> REFACTOR) - Code review -- use
/code-reviewskill - Commit with conventional format
Security Guidelines
Mandatory Checks Before Any Commit
- No hardcoded secrets (API keys, passwords, tokens)
- All user inputs validated
- SQL injection prevention (parameterized queries)
- XSS prevention (sanitized HTML)
- CSRF protection enabled
- Authentication/authorization verified
- Rate limiting on endpoints
- Error messages don't leak sensitive data
Secret Management
NEVER hardcode secrets. ALWAYS use environment variables or a secret manager. Validate required secrets at startup.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
