ai-text-detector: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

ai-text-detector AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from lynote-ai/ai-text-detector. It costs 212 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for an AI-generated-text risk analysis tool. It explains when to use the detector, how to report uncertainty, and which command can analyze a text file.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when analyzing essays, emails, articles, reviews, or messages for signs of AI-like writing.
Why use it?
They prevent the detector’s score from being treated as proof that a person used AI. They also set safer guidance for short samples and high-stakes decisions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00212 $0.00212
Opus 5 $0.00106 $0.00106
Sonnet 5 $0.00042 $0.00042
Haiku 4.5 $0.00021 $0.00021

Measured 8d ago against content hash d1906fcae3e7, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

ai-text-detector AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Agent Instructions: AI Detector Skill

Use this repository as an AI-generated text risk analysis tool.

When to use

Use it when the user asks whether a passage, essay, email, article, review, or message may be AI-generated.

Required behavior

  • Never present the score as proof.
  • Never accuse a named person of cheating, fraud, or misconduct.
  • Ask for a longer sample when text is under ~80 words.
  • Prefer: "AI-like signals are present" over "This was written by AI".
  • For high-stakes contexts, recommend human review and comparison with known writing samples.

How to run

ai-detect path/to/text.txt --json

or:

python -m aidetect.cli path/to/text.txt --json

Response format for users

  1. Give a one-sentence conclusion with uncertainty.
  2. Show score and confidence.
  3. List the strongest evidence signals.
  4. Include caveats.
  5. Suggest next steps only when useful.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
