ressourcespaceMCP: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

ressourcespaceMCP CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from Magnolia-Tech-Services-LLC/ressourcespaceMCP. It costs 937 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for Claude Code covering a TypeScript server that connects an AI agent to ResourceSpace, a digital library for managing media files.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when changing, building, running, or reviewing this ResourceSpace MCP project, including its main and administration servers.
Why use it?
It gives the coding agent the project's commands, structure, server split, and available verification method so changes fit the existing codebase.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00937 $0.00937
Opus 5 $0.00468 $0.00468
Sonnet 5 $0.00187 $0.00187
Haiku 4.5 $0.00094 $0.00094

Measured 10d ago against content hash 29dc22db885e, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-11, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

ressourcespaceMCP CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

ResourceSpace MCP Server — a TypeScript Model Context Protocol implementation providing ~30 consolidated tools for interacting with the ResourceSpace Digital Asset Management (DAM) API. Split into 2 servers to stay under the 80-tool-per-server IDE limit.

Commands

npm run build # Compile TypeScript (tsc) — also runs automatically via postinstall
npm run dev # Run main server in dev mode (tsx src/index.ts)
npm run watch # Watch mode with tsx
npm run start # Run compiled main server (node dist/index.js)
npm link # Install globally — exposes both CLI commands

No automated test suite exists. Verify changes by building (npm run build) and testing each affected server against a live ResourceSpace instance.

Architecture

Multi-Server Design

Two independent MCP servers, each with its own entry point:

Server Entry Point CLI Command Domains
Main src/index.ts resourcespace-mcp-server resources, search, collections, metadata, batch, IIIF
Admin src/index-admin.ts resourcespace-admin-mcp users, groups, system, consent

Key Design Patterns

Consolidated CRUD tools — Instead of separate get/create/delete/copy tools, a single tool uses an action parameter. This keeps tool counts low.

Tool definition pattern — Each tool is an MCPTool object (src/tools/shared/types.ts) with name, description, inputSchema (Zod schema), and handler. Tools are grouped by domain in files under src/tools/{server}/, aggregated by each server's index.ts.

API clientsrc/client/resourcespace.ts handles all HTTP calls via Axios. Authentication uses SHA256 signing: sha256(apiKey + queryString). Includes automatic retry with exponential backoff for transient errors.

Configurationsrc/config.ts validates env vars with Zod. Required: RESOURCESPACE_URL, RESOURCESPACE_USER, RESOURCESPACE_API_KEY. Optional: LOG_LEVEL, REQUEST_TIMEOUT, MAX_RETRIES, RETRY_DELAY.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
