marmoui: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

marmoui AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from mahmoudilyan/marmoui. It costs 961 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project memory for Marmo UI, a React and Next.js design-system project with reusable interface components. It documents the technology stack and where components, documentation, generated data, and related tools live.

In plain words
What is it for?
Adding or editing UI components, component documentation, generated props data, the command-line tool, and related project code.
Why use it?
It gives coding agents the project context and file locations needed to make UI changes correctly. It also identifies which files are source files and which are generated.

Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md. Also seen: mentions CLAUDE.md; mentions Claude Code; mentions Codex.

This is mahmoudilyan/marmoui's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on marmoui itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything marmoui configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00961 $0.00961
Opus 5 $0.00481 $0.00481
Sonnet 5 $0.00192 $0.00192
Haiku 4.5 $0.00096 $0.00096

Security

Grade A, and why

marmoui AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Marmo UI — Agent Project Memory

Auto-loaded by Codex, Cursor, Gemini, and other agents for sessions in this repo. Same conventions as CLAUDE.md.

Stack

  • React 19, Next.js 16 (App Router), TypeScript, Tailwind CSS 4.
  • UI library: @marmoui/ui — published to the public npm registry (MIT).
  • Icons: user-selected library, default @phosphor-icons/react. Also supported: react-icons/md, lucide-react, @tabler/icons-react, @heroicons/react, react-icons/fi.
  • Tables: TanStack Table v8 (via DataTable from @marmoui/ui).
  • State: Zustand for shared client state.
  • Tooling: pnpm workspaces, Turborepo, Changesets (semver), husky + commitlint (Conventional Commits).

Where things live

What Where
Component source packages/ui/src/components/
Component docs (MDX) apps/design-system-docs/content/components/
Generated props JSON apps/design-system-docs/src/data/component-props.json
marmoui CLI (npx marmoui init) packages/cli/
Claude Code plugin + marketplace tools/claude-plugin/

The MCP server, composition patterns, and platform services live in a separate private repository and are consumed here only through the hosted MCP and the published npm package.

Source of truth

The Marmo UI MCP (https://mcp.marmoui.com/mcp — connect via npx marmoui init) is the single source of truth for component APIs, props, patterns, and generation rules.

Never guess prop names, variants, imports, or composition shapes. If you didn't get it from the MCP, you don't know it.

Required workflow for UI code

  1. Verify freshness. get_knowledge_version once per session.
  2. Read the rules. get_design_guidelines once per session.
  3. Find the right primitive. Known multi-component layout → get_pattern; otherwise search_components + get_component_info.
  4. Write the code. Imports only from @marmoui/ui and the chosen icon library.
  5. Validate. review_generated_code on the final output; fix every error and warning before reporting done.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
