Project Overview

This is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that provides cross-platform file search capabilities:

Windows: Uses the Everything SDK for fast indexed search
macOS: Uses mdfind (Spotlight) for native search

server.py - Main MCP server implementation (mcp 2.x lowlevel Server)
- build_search_tool(system): the search tool with platform docs and schema
- parse_search_arguments(arguments): Pydantic validation boundary (mcp 2.x does not validate tool arguments)
- format_results(results): renders SearchResult objects as text
- create_server(provider, system): wires the on_list_tools, on_call_tool and empty resource/prompt handlers; search failures return CallToolResult(is_error=True), unknown tools raise MCPError(-32602)
- serve(): composition root that runs create_server(SearchProvider.get_provider(), platform) over stdio
