speq-skill AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from marconae/speq-skill. It costs 446 tokens per session, scanned A, a copy of superpowers AGENTS.md, MIT.

Repository instructions for speq-skill, a lightweight Rust tool for spec-driven development. Spec-driven development means writing the intended behaviour down before implementing it.

In plain words
What is it for?
Following the project’s documented development approach when working on speq-skill.
Why use it?
The available details are too limited to identify any specific commands or rules beyond that general purpose.

Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md. Also seen: reads .claude/ paths; mentions Codex.

This is marconae/speq-skill's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on speq-skill itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything speq-skill configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00446 $0.00446
Opus 5.5 $0.00178 $0.00178
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00089 $0.00089
Haiku 4.5 $0.00045 $0.00045

Security

Grade A, and why

speq-skill AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Development Rules

Rules

  • Mental model: this repo builds speq-skill while it uses speq-skill. .claude/skills/ is both dev tooling and the source scripts/plugin/build.sh compiles into the plugin.
  • CLI: use the local build only — ./target/debug/speq <cmd> (./target/release/speq <cmd> after a release build). Do not use the global speq or cargo run --.
  • Skill names: use /speq-* in this repo. The installed plugin uses /speq:*. build.sh renames them. Do not rename by hand.
  • Version: Cargo.toml is the only source of the version number. Read it through scripts/lib/version.sh (get_version). Do not hardcode the version anywhere else.
  • Docker tests: run them only through ./tests/docker/test-docker.sh. Never run a script in tests/docker/ directly on the host. They call ./install.sh and overwrite ~/.local/bin/speq, ~/.speq-skill/, and the Codex config.
  • Tests: put integration test specs in files under tests/fixtures/. Do not write specs as inline strings.
  • Commits: use Conventional Commits — <type>[scope]: <description>. Types: feat, fix, perf, refactor, test, docs, spec, chore. Mark a breaking change with ! after the type, or a BREAKING CHANGE: footer.
  • @specs/mission.md applies and describes the speq CLI only.
  • @specs/architecture.md describes the speq CLI architecture only.
  • Skill purpose and intent live in the skill files and docs/.

Commands

  • Build the plugin: ./scripts/plugin/build.sh
  • Build a release artifact: ./scripts/release/build.sh <vX.Y.Z>
  • Test a release artifact: ./scripts/release/test.sh <vX.Y.Z>

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
