ID: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

ID AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from markoblogo/ID. It costs 268 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A repository instruction file for the ID project. It explains the project’s purpose, rules, privacy constraints, and commands contributors must use to verify and release changes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to guide work on the ID command-line tool, keep code and documentation aligned, and run validation, coverage, release, and integration checks.
Why use it?
It gives coding agents and contributors one place to learn the project’s expected behavior. This helps prevent inconsistent changes, privacy mistakes, and skipped checks.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00268 $0.00268
Opus 5 $0.00134 $0.00134
Sonnet 5 $0.00054 $0.00054
Haiku 4.5 $0.00027 $0.00027

Security

Grade A, and why

ID AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

ID contributor guide

ID is a local CLI for owner-reviewed human context. Markdown profiles are canonical; JSON artifacts are generated transport views.

Start here

Read README.md, docs/PROTOCOL.md, docs/PRIVACY_POLICY_V1.md, docs/INTEGRATIONS.md, and pyproject.toml. Keep CLI behavior, schemas, templates, and integration docs aligned.

Invariants

  • Never weaken privacy rules to make an export pass.
  • Missing, malformed, mixed, conflicting, or owner-mismatched policies fail closed.
  • Supported legacy list policies normalize in memory and remain unchanged on disk.
  • Unlisted fields remain local-only.
  • Source profiles are never modified by export or integration smoke tests.
  • MCP output is resource JSON for an adapter; this package does not run an MCP server.
  • SET remains planning-only and agentsgen owns repository instructions.

Verification

Use a virtual environment, then run:

python -m pip install ".[dev]" build twine
make validate
make drift-check
make coverage
make release-build
make release-check

Before a release, install the wheel with the pinned agentsgen and SET versions and run scripts/id_release_smoke.py. Keep package, docs, recorded demo versions, and integration pins synchronized.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
