AGENTS.md

tg-mcp-guarded AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from matskevich/tg-mcp-guarded. It costs 977 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A repository guide for AI coding agents working on a Python Telegram API library and MCP server. It covers the project layout, setup commands, coding rules, and tests.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when installing dependencies, configuring the environment, changing Telegram or MCP code, running tests, or reviewing project compliance.
Why use it?
It helps agents understand how the code is organized and how to run the project safely, including its rate limiting and anti-spam checks.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00977 $0.00977
Opus 5 $0.00489 $0.00489
Sonnet 5 $0.00195 $0.00195
Haiku 4.5 $0.00098 $0.00098

Security

Grade A, and why

tg-mcp-guarded AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Repository Guidelines

Project Structure & Modules

tganalytics/tganalytics holds the Python package: infra/ wraps Telegram clients plus rate-limiters, domain/ manages group/member logic, and config/ centralizes defaults consumed by mcp_server.py. Supporting assets include scripts/ (env utilities, compliance, audits), docs/ (anti-spam and security notes), and tests/ which mirrors the production folders (tests/core stresses the limiter). Runtime artifacts under data/ (sessions, export, anti_spam, logs) stay local only—run make setup-dirs or make dev-setup to create them with the right permissions.

Build, Test, and Development Commands

  • python3 -m venv venv && source venv/bin/activate followed by pip install -r requirements.txt or make install primes dependencies.
  • cp .env.sample .env or make sync-env keeps credentials synchronized; make dev-setup chains env sync, dependency install, and directory creation.
  • PYTHONPATH=tganalytics:. python -m pytest tests/ -q (also make test) runs the full suite; make test-fast skips slow markers and make test-limiter isolates bucket math.
  • make anti-spam-check, make telegram-api-audit, and make security-check enforce safe API usage and security scanning.
  • make dev-check performs formatting + linting + compliance before committing.

Coding Style & Naming Conventions

Use 4-space indentation, snake_case modules, PascalCase classes, and uppercase env constants. black, isort, and flake8 --max-line-length=100 --ignore=E203,W503 govern formatting, while bandit and yamllint raise safety issues (see .pre-commit-config.yaml). MCP tool functions must follow the tg_<verb> naming scheme so CLI help, filenames, and docs stay aligned.

Testing Guidelines

Pytest discovery is defined in pytest.ini (files test_*.py, classes Test*, functions test_*). Decorate async tests with @pytest.mark.asyncio and flag heavy tests with slow or integration so contributors can rely on make test-fast. Expand fixtures inside tests/conftest.py, cover every new Telegram RPC with limiter/anti-spam cases, and remember CI runs python -m pytest tests/ -q with PYTHONPATH=tganalytics:..

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
