unit-tests-skills: Instructions file for Claude Code

AGENTS.md

unit-tests-skills AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode from mavka-ai/unit-tests-skills. It costs 876 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A repository guide for a collection of skills that generate unit tests. Unit tests are small automated checks for individual parts of a program, and the guide also documents rules and plugin validation.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to generate test cases or test code and to validate changes to the repository's skills and plugin configuration.
Why use it?
It tells coding agents where the testing rules are and how to verify that the repository's plugin files remain valid.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00876 $0.00876
Opus 5 $0.00438 $0.00438
Sonnet 5 $0.00175 $0.00175
Haiku 4.5 $0.00088 $0.00088

Security

Grade A, and why

unit-tests-skills AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Guidance for AI agents working with this repository.

Overview

Skills for generating unit tests with consistent quality. Each skill is self-contained.

Skills

Command What it does
/generate-tests <file> Full workflow: analyzes code, outputs test cases for review, generates test code
/generate-test-cases <file> Analysis only: outputs test case list without generating code

Rules Location

Rules are inside each skill folder:

  • generate-test-cases/rules/general/ — general rules only
  • generate-tests/rules/tests/ — all rules (general, java, post-generation)

Plugin Validation

This repository doubles as a Claude Code plugin and a marketplace, declared in .claude-plugin/. Both manifests must stay valid, because the community-marketplace review pipeline runs claude plugin validate on every submission.

After changing anything under .claude-plugin/ or skills/, run:

./scripts/validate-plugin.sh

CI runs the same script on every pull request touching those paths (.github/workflows/validate-plugin.yml). No credentials are needed — validation is entirely local.

What it checks, and why each check exists

Check Why it is not redundant
claude plugin validate . --strict Validates the marketplace manifest. --strict promotes warnings to errors, which matters because the CLI reports a version that disagrees between the entry and plugin.json as a warning — while plugin.json silently wins at install time.
claude plugin validate <copy> --strict The validator switches to marketplace mode the moment it sees marketplace.json, so validating the repo root never exercises plugin.json's own schema. The script copies the plugin without the marketplace file to force plugin mode.
Entry name matches plugin.json The CLI does not check this. A marketplace entry naming a plugin that plugin.json does not define validates cleanly and only fails later at install time with Plugin "<name>" not found in marketplace. Verified against claude 2.1.235.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
