py-armodel: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

py-armodel CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from melodypapa/py-armodel. It costs 6,643 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A repository instruction file describing the structure and design rules of the py-armodel Python library. The library reads, edits, and writes AUTOSAR XML files, which are structured automotive configuration documents.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it as guidance when adding or changing AUTOSAR model classes, exports, and related code in py-armodel.
Why use it?
It gives a coding agent the project context needed to make changes that match the library's architecture, supported standards, and import conventions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.06643 $0.06643
Opus 5.5 $0.02657 $0.02657
Sonnet 5.5 $0.01329 $0.01329
Haiku 4.5 $0.00664 $0.00664

Security

Grade A, and why

py-armodel CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

py-armodel is a Python library for parsing, manipulating, and writing AUTOSAR XML (ARXML) files. It follows the AUTOSAR standard specifications and supports versions from 4.0.3 to R24-11, with particular focus on CP R23-11 standard compliance.

Current Version: 1.9.9 Python Requirements: >= 3.8 (CI tests on 3.8-3.13) License: MIT Repository: http://github.com/melodypapa/py-armodel

Critical Architecture Concepts

M2 Schema Structure

The codebase is organized according to the AUTOSAR M2 meta-model:

  • src/armodel/models/M2/MSR/ - Meta-model semantic rules (AsamHdo, DataDictionary, Documentation, CalibrationData)
  • src/armodel/models/M2/AUTOSARTemplates/ - AUTOSAR template models organized by domain

Wildcard Import Pattern:

  • All model classes use wildcard imports in __init__.py files (e.g., from .my_class import *)
  • When adding new model classes, ensure they are exported from the appropriate __init__.py
  • This allows imports like from armodel.models.M2.AUTOSARTemplates import SwcInternalBehavior
  • Each module's __init__.py re-exports all classes from its submodules for convenience

AUTOSAR Singleton Pattern

AUTOSAR class uses singleton pattern:

  • AUTOSAR.getInstance() - Get/create the singleton instance
  • AUTOSAR.new() - Clear and create fresh instance
  • AUTOSAR.setARRelease(version) - MUST be called before parsing/writing to select correct XML schema

Parent-Child Object Graph

AUTOSAR model objects maintain bi-directional references:

  • Every object has a parent attribute pointing to its container
  • Parents hold collections of children
  • ARPackage hierarchy is the primary containment structure
  • When manipulating models, maintain parent-child relationships carefully

Element Naming

  • AUTOSAR elements use "short name" as primary identifier (not Python's __name__)
  • Short names must be unique within their containing package/context
  • Use findXXX() methods for lookups by short name; they return None if not found (not exceptions)
  • Same short name can exist in different packages or with different types

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

py-armodel CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository melodypapa/py-armodel (18 stars, last pushed 14d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 6,643 tokens to every session, about $0.0266 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-11-01.
