mcp-blueprint: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

mcp-blueprint CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from meob/mcp-blueprint. It costs 578 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A repository guide for AI coding assistants working on the mcp-blueprint project. It sets general expectations for code, language, documentation, and maintainability.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to guide code changes, comments, documentation, prompts, configuration descriptions, and error messages in the repository.
Why use it?
It gives coding assistants shared rules so their changes follow the project’s documented goals and remain readable and maintainable.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00578 $0.00578
Opus 5 $0.00289 $0.00289
Sonnet 5 $0.00116 $0.00116
Haiku 4.5 $0.00058 $0.00058

Measured 8d ago against content hash 3e90754c36d6, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-08, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

mcp-blueprint CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CLAUDE.md

This document defines the general development guidelines for AI coding assistants contributing to this repository.

These guidelines are intentionally project-independent and should remain applicable across different projects.

Project-specific requirements are documented in the repository documentation.

General Principles

Produce software that is:

  • Correct
  • Readable
  • Maintainable
  • Modular
  • Production-ready

Always prefer simplicity over unnecessary complexity.

Choose solutions that minimize long-term maintenance.

Read the Documentation First

Before making significant changes, read the Markdown documentation available in the project root.

The project documentation defines:

  • goals
  • architecture
  • implementation priorities
  • design decisions

Follow the documented architecture unless explicitly instructed otherwise.

Language

Use English consistently for:

  • source code
  • comments
  • docstrings
  • documentation
  • commit messages
  • prompts
  • examples
  • configuration descriptions
  • error messages

Do not mix languages.

Code Quality

Write clean, explicit and readable code.

Prefer:

  • small functions
  • focused classes
  • modular components
  • reusable code

Avoid:

  • duplicated logic
  • unnecessary abstractions
  • premature optimization
  • hidden side effects

Prefer composition over inheritance whenever practical.

Dependencies

Keep dependencies to a minimum.

Before introducing a new library, verify that it provides significant value.

Avoid overlapping libraries that solve the same problem.

Configuration

Avoid hardcoded values.

Use configuration files or environment variables whenever appropriate.

Testing

Whenever practical, accompany new functionality with automated tests.

Code without tests should be considered incomplete.

Documentation

Documentation is part of the implementation.

Whenever functionality or architecture changes, update the relevant documentation.

Git

Use Git from the beginning.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
