mirrord lets a program running on a developer’s machine behave as though it were running inside a selected pod in a Kubernetes cluster, by routing the pod’s environment, files, network, and traffic to the local process. Developers and AI coding agents use it to build and test against live cluster services without deploying or disrupting other users; the catalogue entries provide instructions for using it.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|

| Opus 5 | $0.00440 | $0.00440 |

Grade A, and why
mirrord AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 91 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
mirrord
Overview
mirrord is a tool that lets developers run local processes in the context of their Kubernetes cloud environment.
Core Crates
mirrord-layer: gets loaded into the user's process viaLD_PRELOAD/DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES. Intercepts libc calls (files, networking, DNS, env, ...) and turns them into protocol messages sent to the intproxy.mirrord-intproxy: a local process spawned by the CLI that bridges N layers and 1 agent. Matches requests to responses, handles reconnects, and routes messages to the right feature proxy.mirrord-agent: the in-cluster component of mirrord. Runs in the target pods' context and network namespace. Does the actual I/O work requested by the layers.mirrord-protocol: defines the shared messages (ClientMessage,DaemonMessage) sent between layer/intproxy/agent.mirrord-config: config types and validation. Used by the CLI and layer to decide what features are enabled and what target to use.mirrord: the CLI that resolves configuration, creates or connects to the agent, starts the intproxy, and launches the user's local process with the mirrord layer loaded.
Command Reference
Compiling
# check the entire workspace at once
# always use when a change spans multiple crates instead of checking each crate individually
cargo clippy --all-targets --all-features --keep-going -- --deny warnings
# check a specific crate
# the agent is linux only
cargo clippy -p mirrord-agent --target x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu --keep-going -- --deny warnings
# layer and cli bundled with the new layer
# use only when a fresh mirrord + layer binary is needed for testing
cargo xtask build-cli
Use --keep-going to surface all errors at once. Use clippy instead of check to lint + compile simultaneously.
Testing
# integration tests
# requires building the cli first with `xtask build-cli`
cargo xtask test-integration
# filtered integration tests
cargo xtask test-integration -- outgoing_udp --nocapture
# unit tests
cargo xtask test-ut
# filtered unit tests
cargo xtask test-ut -- resolve_url_happy_path -- --nocapture
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

mirrord AGENTS.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository metalbear-co/mirrord (5,323 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 880 tokens to every session, about $0.0044 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
