mcp-vcf-orchestrator: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

mcp-vcf-orchestrator CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from mgovedarov/mcp-vcf-orchestrator. It costs 2,826 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A repository-specific instruction document for the mcp-vcf-orchestrator project. It records commands, environment setup, architecture notes, conventions, and validation requirements for working on that codebase.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps develop and check the TypeScript MCP server, run its tests and coverage gate, inspect it interactively, and perform the project’s full validation.
Why use it?
It gives a coding agent the project’s expected build, test, coverage, documentation, and validation procedures.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.02826 $0.02826
Opus 5 $0.01413 $0.01413
Sonnet 5 $0.00565 $0.00565
Haiku 4.5 $0.00283 $0.00283

Security

Grade A, and why

mcp-vcf-orchestrator CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Common Commands

  • Build: npm run build – runs tsc, compiling TypeScript to dist/ (executable entry at dist/index.js).
  • Start: npm start – runs the server with tsx src/index.ts (requires runtime environment variables; speaks MCP over stdio).
  • Test: npm test – builds, then runs node --test test/*.test.mjs. Run a single file with npm run build && node --test test/workflow-tools.test.mjs. Filter within a file with node --test --test-name-pattern="<regex>" test/<file>.test.mjs.
  • Coverage gate: npm run test:coverage:check – enforces lines ≥80, branches ≥70, functions ≥80.
  • Inspect: npm run inspect – launches the MCP Inspector against the built server for interactive debugging.
  • Validate: npm run validate – the full local gate: build, tests, coverage thresholds, docs/examples drift, VitePress docs build, and npm package-content checks. Must not contact a live VCFA environment.
  • Docs/examples drift: npm run validate:docs – checks registered tool/prompt/resource names against reference docs, validates local Markdown links, and verifies documented tool-call examples use current top-level argument names.
  • Package contents: npm run validate:package – runs npm pack --dry-run --json with an isolated temp npm cache and verifies the published file set.
  • Docs: npm run docs:dev (local preview server), npm run docs:build, npm run docs:preview.

Toolchain: Node >=22.19.0 (engines, driven by undici 8); .nvmrc pins 24. CI runs npm test on Node 22 and 24 and the full npm run validate gate on 24. Docs deploy to GitHub Pages from main; npm publishing runs only for published GitHub releases.

Environment Configuration

Required at startup (the process exits if any is missing): VCFA_HOST, VCFA_USERNAME, VCFA_ORGANIZATION, VCFA_PASSWORD.

Notable optional variables (see .env.example and README.md for the full table):

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
