Agent365-nodejs CLAUDE.md

A project-instructions file for the Microsoft Agent365 Node.js project, documenting its purpose, commands, package manager, and testing workflow.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when installing dependencies, building packages, running tests, or making changes across the project's TypeScript monorepo, a repository containing multiple related packages.
Why use it?
It gives coding agents the project context and routine commands needed to work consistently in the repository.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.03128 $0.03128
Opus 5 $0.01564 $0.01564
Sonnet 5 $0.00626 $0.00626
Haiku 4.5 $0.00313 $0.00313

Measured 2d ago against content hash 4f1164af4980, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

Agent365-nodejs CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

The Microsoft Agent 365 SDK extends the Microsoft 365 Agents SDK with enterprise-grade capabilities for building sophisticated AI agents. This Node.js/TypeScript monorepo provides comprehensive tooling across four core areas:

  • Observability: OpenTelemetry-based tracing and monitoring for agent applications
  • Notifications: Agent notification services and lifecycle event handling
  • Runtime: Core utilities for agent operations and Power Platform integration
  • Tooling: MCP (Model Context Protocol) server configuration and tool discovery

Essential Commands

Package Management

This project uses pnpm (version 10.20.0+) as its package manager:

# Install all dependencies
pnpm install

# Build all packages
pnpm build

# Build and watch for changes
pnpm build:watch

# Clean build artifacts
pnpm clean

Testing

# Run all unit tests (excludes integration tests)
pnpm test

# Run tests with coverage
pnpm test:coverage

# Run tests in watch mode
pnpm test:watch

# Run integration tests
pnpm test:integration

# Run tests for a specific package
cd packages/agents-a365-observability && pnpm test

Code Quality

# Run linter
pnpm lint

# Auto-fix linting issues
pnpm lint:fix

Package Building and Distribution

# Build and create .tgz files for distribution
pnpm build
cd packages && pnpm pack --workspaces

# The .tgz files will be created in the root directory

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
