youtube_downloader_gui: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

youtube_downloader_gui AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from milochen0418/youtube_downloader_gui. It costs 750 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for a Python application with a graphical interface for downloading YouTube videos. They require reading the project documentation and using Python 3.11 through Poetry, a Python environment and dependency manager.

In plain words
What is it for?
Preparing dependencies, running project scripts with Poetry, starting or restarting the app with its helper script, and following the repository’s end-to-end test instructions.
Why use it?
They keep commands in the correct environment and reduce failures caused by using another Python version or running scripts outside the project environment.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00750 $0.00750
Opus 5 $0.00375 $0.00375
Sonnet 5 $0.00150 $0.00150
Haiku 4.5 $0.00075 $0.00075

Security

Grade A, and why

youtube_downloader_gui AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md

This file describes how an AI coding agent (and humans) should work in this repository.

0) Always read the docs first

Before making changes or running commands, read all README.md files in this repo and follow them.

  • Repo overview & dev workflow: README.md
  • E2E test runner conventions: testcases/README.md (if present)

If you already read them earlier in the session, re-check when unsure.

1) Python / Poetry requirements (strict)

This project targets Python 3.11 (always set the Poetry env to 3.11 before installing deps or running commands).

  • Prefer Poetry-managed environments.
  • If Poetry selected another Python (e.g. 3.12+), switch it:
poetry env use python3.11
poetry env info
poetry install

If python3.11 is not available on PATH, use an absolute path to the 3.11 executable.

2) Default rule: use poetry run for scripts

When running any repo scripts, prefer:

  • poetry run <command>

This ensures the correct virtualenv + dependencies are used.

3) Running the app: prefer reflex_rerun.sh

When you need to start/restart the Reflex app during development, prefer the repo helper script.

Typical usage:

poetry run ./reflex_rerun.sh

Notes:

  • Prefer poetry run ./reflex_rerun.sh over poetry run reflex run.
  • This keeps the app startup/restart behavior consistent and helps it run stably on the expected ports: frontend 3000, backend 8000.
  • If you must run Reflex directly, still do it via Poetry: poetry run reflex run.

3.5) Recreate the env: use proj_reinstall.sh

To fully rebuild the local Poetry environment and clean Reflex artifacts, run:

./proj_reinstall.sh

Flags:

  • --remove-only: only clean artifacts and remove Poetry envs; no new env/install.
  • --with-rerun: after reinstall, run poetry run ./reflex_rerun.sh automatically.

The script will auto-run poetry lock if poetry install fails due to a stale lockfile.

4) Running E2E suites: prefer run_test_suite.sh

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
