nextjs-skills AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from mohamed-hossam1/nextjs-skills. It costs 2,031 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for a web application with a Node.js server and a React frontend, split into two packages in a monorepo, meaning one repository containing multiple related packages.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when developing or reviewing the server, client, UI styling, AI skills, tests, and documentation in this project.
Why use it?
They establish the required workflow, file locations, style rules, and checks for changing the application safely.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.02031 $0.02031
Opus 5 $0.01015 $0.01015
Sonnet 5 $0.00406 $0.00406
Haiku 4.5 $0.00203 $0.00203

Measured 10d ago against content hash 20957bda4bd9, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-10, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

nextjs-skills AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Style guidelines

  • No emojis in any markdown file or code comment.
  • Use Yes/No in tables instead of checkmarks.
  • Use // Good: and // Bad: comments in code examples — never // WRONG, // CORRECT, or other variants.
  • Keep examples focused on one concept at a time.
  • Placeholders use [PascalCase] for types and components, [camelCase] for functions, variables, and tag strings.
  • Every code snippet should compile if pasted into a real project — include the imports it depends on.
  • Bad examples come after the good pattern they contrast with, never alone. The reader should always see the right answer first.

SKILL.md authoring rules

SKILL.md must:

  • Open with a YAML frontmatter block that parses cleanly.
    • Required keys: name, description. Optional: metadata (with version, author).
    • Anything else is silently ignored by harnesses — typos become invisible bugs.
    • description should explicitly list trigger phrases. Agents tend to under-trigger skills, so be slightly assertive about when to use it.
    • Bump metadata.version when the skill structure or rules change.
  • Stay under ~500 lines. If you approach the limit, push detail down a layer — into references/, assets/, or scripts/ — with clear pointers to the new location.
  • Explain the why before any code. Lean on theory of mind instead of blanket MUST / NEVER. Today's models are smart enough to act on reasoning, and reasoning generalizes; rigid rules don't.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
