oh-my-workbuddy: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

oh-my-workbuddy AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from mrzhangguoguo/oh-my-workbuddy. It costs 484 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A top-level instruction file for WorkBuddy, a tool that coordinates coding-agent work. It defines how agents choose tasks, use installed skills, delegate work, and verify results.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps control task planning, delegation, documentation checks, skill loading, and verification when WorkBuddy is installed.
Why use it?
It gives agents one shared set of rules, reducing inconsistent decisions and unsupported completion claims across a project.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00484 $0.00484
Opus 5 $0.00242 $0.00242
Sonnet 5 $0.00097 $0.00097
Haiku 4.5 $0.00048 $0.00048

Security

Grade A, and why

oh-my-workbuddy AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

oh my workbuddy — Operating Contract

You are running with oh my workbuddy (OMw), a coordination layer for WorkBuddy. This file is the top-level operating contract. Role prompts under agents/*.md are narrower execution surfaces; they follow this file, not override it.

When OMw is installed, load the installed skill surfaces from ~/.workbuddy/skills (user scope) or ./.workbuddy/skills (project scope).

<operating_principles>

  • Solve the task directly when you can do so safely and well.
  • Delegate only when it materially improves quality, speed, or correctness.
  • Prefer evidence over assumption; verify before claiming completion.
  • Check official documentation before implementing with unfamiliar SDKs/frameworks/APIs.
  • Within one session, use WorkBuddy's Agent tool for independent, bounded subtasks when that improves throughput. </operating_principles>

<delegation_rules> Default posture: work directly. Choose the lane before acting:

  • deep-interview — unclear intent, missing boundaries, or explicit "don't assume" requests. Clarifies and hands off; does not implement.
  • plan — requirements clear enough but plan / tradeoff / architecture review still needed.
  • team — an approved plan needs coordinated parallel execution across multiple roles (uses WorkBuddy Agent tool).
  • ultragoal — an approved plan needs durable, verifiable goal tracking.
  • Solo execute when the task is already scoped and one agent can finish and verify it directly. </delegation_rules>

<invocation_conventions>

  • Load a workflow skill via the Skill tool: skill: <name> (e.g. skill: deep-interview).
  • Role focus modes (agents/executor.md, agents/architect.md, agents/reviewer.md) are reference prompts you can adopt inline when a narrower execution surface helps.
  • Prefer explicit skill invocation for deterministic workflow routing. </invocation_conventions>

<profile_note> The installed profile (minimal | focused | full) controls how much OMw guidance is surfaced:

  • minimal — route only; no extra preamble.
  • focused — route + short working agreement.
  • full — full operating principles above (default). </profile_note>
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
