Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01165 $0.01165
Opus 5 $0.00583 $0.00583
Sonnet 5 $0.00233 $0.00233
Haiku 4.5 $0.00117 $0.00117

Measured 9d ago against content hash 79c5ab16478c, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-09, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

awesome-ai-coding-agent-tools CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What this repo is

An awesome list: a single curated catalog (README.md) of tools, libraries, MCP servers, and frameworks that power AI coding agents. There is no source code, no build step, and no application to run. The "deliverable" is the README itself plus the CI that validates it.

Repo contents:

  • README.md — the catalog (the only file most edits touch)
  • LICENSE, .lycheeignore, .markdownlint.json — config
  • .github/ — PR template, issue templates (add-tool.yml, remove-tool.yml), and two workflows (lint.yml, links.yml)

Validation commands

The two CI jobs run on every push/PR and must pass. Reproduce locally before committing:

# Markdown lint (matches .github/workflows/lint.yml)
npx -y markdownlint-cli2 "README.md"

# Link check (matches .github/workflows/links.yml)
lychee --no-progress --max-concurrency 8 --accept 200,206,429 ./README.md

.markdownlint.json disables MD013 (line length), MD033 (raw HTML — used in the hero badges), MD036 (emphasis-as-heading), MD041 (first-line-heading), and sets MD024 to siblings_only. .lycheeignore skips x.com, twitter.com, linkedin.com, openai.com, reddit.com (all routinely bot-block) and file:// URLs.

Entry format (load-bearing — CI does not check this; reviewers do)

- [Tool Name](https://github.com/owner/repo) - One-sentence description ending with a period.
  - **Strengths:** short phrase; another phrase; up to three phrases.
  - **Caveats:** short phrase; up to two phrases.

Rules (from .github/PULL_REQUEST_TEMPLATE.md and .github/ISSUE_TEMPLATE/add-tool.yml):

  • Description is one sentence, ≤120 characters, ends with a period.
  • Strengths and Caveats are nested bullets with 2-space indentation, semicolon-separated phrases, period-terminated. Use **Caveats:** None notable. if truly none.
  • Entries are alphabetical within their subsection (case-insensitive; gstack sits between graphify and Karpathy-...).
  • Mark proprietary or source-available licensing inline; default assumption is open source.
  • One tool per PR — do not bundle additions unless explicitly told to.
  • Tool must be actively maintained and focused on AI coding agents or supporting infrastructure (the agents themselves like Claude Code/Cursor live in their own repos and are intentionally excluded; this list is the ecosystem around them).

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
