Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.01584 | $0.01584 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00792 | $0.00792 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00317 | $0.00317 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00158 | $0.00158 |
Grade A, and why
awesome-ai-scientists CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 124 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
CLAUDE.md
This file provides guidance to Claude Code (claude.ai/code) when working with code in this repository.
This is a curated awesome list, not an application codebase. README.md is the canonical public index; website/ is its Docusaurus surface. AGENTS.md is the full operating protocol — scope rules, trust boundary, taxonomy slug tables, cross-surface sync, risk register, and protected areas live there. This file routes Claude to the right context per task and fixes the output format; it does not restate AGENTS.md. Where the two overlap, AGENTS.md wins.
North Star
Preserve README.md as the canonical index and keep website/docs/ in step with it. Curate selectively over accumulating. Keep entries technically useful, neutral, durable, and scannable. Help the maintainer decide fast and consistently. Do not broaden the repository beyond its stated scope.
Resolver — load per task
Pull only what the task needs; do not preload everything.
| Task | Load |
|---|---|
| PR review | the diff · AGENTS.md · the affected README.md section · the matching website/docs/ page · CONTRIBUTING.md checklist |
| Issue triage | the issue form · README scope · the three taxonomy docs · duplicate candidates in the target section |
| Broken link | the affected entry · search for a canonical replacement · then recommend replace or remove |
| Taxonomy work | website/docs/workflows.md · domains.md · resource-types.md (slug source of truth) |
First-pass workflow
- Read the diff or issue. 2. Check scope (
README.md/AGENTS.md). 3. CheckCONTRIBUTING.md. 4. Read existing entries in the target section. 5. Search for duplicates across both surfaces. 6. Verify the link where tools allow. 7. Inspect the resource enough to know what it is. 8. Decide the smallest useful action. 9. Produce a concise recommendation or edit.
Stop conditions
Stop and ask the maintainer before:
- Editing any protected area (badges, Contents/TOC, contributor banners, sponsor blocks,
LICENSE,CODEOWNERS, generated output,specs/, local-only files). - Creating a new taxonomy slug — propose it in an issue instead.
- Broad README restructuring or section reordering.
- Accepting a resource whose scientific-discovery relevance is unclear.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

awesome-ai-scientists CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository natnew/awesome-ai-scientists (18 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 1,584 tokens to every session, about $0.0079 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
