AGENTS.md

context-management-for-agents AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from navendubrajesh/context-management-for-agents. It costs 1,567 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for a collection of 28 skills that teach coding agents how to manage their context, meaning the information they use while working.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when adding or maintaining agent skills, working with the research files, or following the repository's context-management and tooling rules.
Why use it?
They describe the repository layout, supported agent tools, and required ways to inspect or change the project.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01567 $0.01567
Opus 5 $0.00783 $0.00783
Sonnet 5 $0.00313 $0.00313
Haiku 4.5 $0.00157 $0.00157

Measured 12d ago against content hash 0b2accd37e68, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-11, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

context-management-for-agents AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md

This file provides guidance to AI coding agents (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Amazon Kiro, Google Antigravity, Amazon Q Developer, and other AGENTS.md-conformant tools) when working with code in this repository.

Project Overview

Context Management for Agents: an open collection of 28 Agent Skills teaching context engineering and harness engineering for production AI agent systems. 13 skills are platform-agnostic; 15 platform skills cover five agentic coding tools (3 skills each for Copilot, Cursor, Kiro, Antigravity, and Amazon Q Developer).

Context engineering is the discipline of curating everything that enters a model's context window (system prompts, tool definitions, retrieved documents, message history, tool outputs) to maximize signal within limited attention budget.

Repository Structure

  • skills/ — 28 skill directories, each with SKILL.md (YAML frontmatter: name, description) and optional references/
  • examples/ — 5 demonstration projects
  • researcher/ — File-based research OS: rubrics, mechanism registry, claim provenance, corpus index, benchmarks, validation scripts
  • template/SKILL.md — Canonical skill template
  • SKILL.md (root) — Collection-level skill map
  • .plugin/plugin.json — Open Plugins manifest
  • bin/cli.js — Multi-platform installer (--platform copilot|cursor|kiro|antigravity|amazonq|claude)

Skill stacks (co-installation)

This repository provides context engineering knowledge skills. Workflow harnesses (e.g. GStack with /ship, /qa, /review) are complementary — install both with separate namespaces:

Stack Purpose Typical install path (Cursor)
GStack Build, test, ship, browser QA .cursor/skills/gstack/
Context engineering (this repo) Context window discipline .cursor/skills/context-engineering/

Rules:

  • Read one matching SKILL.md on activation; never load all skills up front.
  • When a GStack workflow skill is active, follow its procedure; use context skills for what to keep, compress, or mask.
  • Install: npx context-management-for-agents --platform cursor --setup (namespaced + discovery symlinks).

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
