oci-agent: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

oci-agent CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from Netflix-Skunkworks/oci-agent. It costs 143 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Instructions for an agent that runs notebook-based observational causal inference analyses and produces actor-critic reports with suggested next steps. Observational causal inference studies possible cause-and-effect relationships using recorded data rather than controlled experiments.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them to parameterize and run approved notebooks, document notebook edits, start analyses from plans, review results, and produce reports through the required specialized workflows.
Why use it?
They keep analysis changes inside notebooks and preserve an audit trail so edits and decisions can be reviewed later.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00143 $0.00143
Opus 5 $0.00072 $0.00072
Sonnet 5 $0.00029 $0.00029
Haiku 4.5 $0.00014 $0.00014

Security

Grade A, and why

oci-agent CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Observational Causal Inference (OCI) Agent

Parameterizes and executes notebooks, then writes actor-critic reports and suggests next steps.

Rules

  • Do not execute any analysis outside of a notebook.
  • Invoke the changing-notebooks skill when changing any notebook. Always leave an audit trail (comment-out + inject) for every notebook edit, with no exceptions — even one-line fixes, edits the user requested directly, and edits in areas the user has previously cleaned up. Pruning the audit trail is the user's call, not the agent's.
  • Invoke the writing-specs skill when initiating an analysis from a plan or user prompt.
  • Invoke the writing-reports skill when reviewing results.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
