specmint-core: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

specmint-core CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from ngvoicu/specmint-core. It costs 777 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A markdown-only set of instructions for keeping persistent, resumable software specifications in a project.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when working on Spec Mint Core with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, Cline, or Gemini CLI, and when searching or updating its shared knowledge base.
Why use it?
It replaces temporary AI coding plans with specifications that can be continued later. It also documents the project's architecture and related files.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00777 $0.00777
Opus 5 $0.00388 $0.00388
Sonnet 5 $0.00155 $0.00155
Haiku 4.5 $0.00078 $0.00078

Measured 8d ago against content hash ebebe2571ac4, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

specmint-core CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CLAUDE.md — Spec Mint Core

Project Overview

Spec Mint Core is a markdown-only universal skill (no build step, no dependencies) that replaces ephemeral AI coding plans with persistent, resumable specs. It ships as a universal skill (SKILL.md) that works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, Cline, and Gemini CLI via npx skills add.

Knowledge base

Architectural details and distribution context for the Mint family live in the ngvoicu-sme brain. Read and write through kluris (never edit brain files by hand — the skill enforces an approval protocol):

  • /kluris-ngvoicu-sme — Claude Code skill (search, learn, remember, create)
  • kluris search "<query>" --brain ngvoicu-sme — direct search

Topics relevant to this repo: specmint-core overview, architecture, core-vs-tdd differences, distribution, evals.

Architecture

The skill has two conceptual layers:

Skill layerSKILL.md (the universal skill that drives the full workflow) and references/researcher.md (deep-research subagent brief, spawned via the Task tool during forge). AI tools read these markdown files as behavioral instructions.

Data layer.specs/ directory created in the consuming project root (not this repo). All tools share this directory. SPEC.md frontmatter is authoritative; registry.md is a denormalized index for quick lookups. See references/spec-format.md for the full format specification.

File Relationships

These files must stay in sync — changing one without the other will cause behavioral drift:

Source of truth Must match
references/spec-format.md Spec format rules in SKILL.md
SKILL.md Behavioral contracts in references/command-contracts.md

skills/specmint-core/SKILL.md is a symlink to ../../SKILL.md — never replace it with a real file.

Key Conventions

  • CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md, and .specs/ are intentionally untracked in this repo
  • AGENTS.md provides Codex-specific guidelines (see SKILL.md for details)
  • SKILL.md must work for all AI tools — keep its behavior tool-agnostic
  • Spec format details (IDs, task codes, phase markers, sections) are in references/spec-format.md — that is the single source of truth
  • Workflow details (forge phases, implement lifecycle) live in SKILL.md

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
