skills: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

skills CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from nibzard/skills. It costs 1,100 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for a marketplace that catalogs Claude Code plugins, with each plugin bundling one or more agent skills. They explain the marketplace layout and how skills are discovered and named.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when developing or documenting plugins and agent skills in the marketplace, especially when updating its structure or discovery rules.
Why use it?
They give contributors a shared model of the repository and its plugin structure. This reduces confusion about where marketplace metadata, plugin files, skills, and documentation should go.

Instructions file for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT} variable. Also seen: reads .claude/ paths; mentions CLAUDE.md; mentions Claude Code.

This is nibzard/skills's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on skills itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything skills configures →

Runs only inside a plugin — its command needs a path that Claude Code sets for a plugin’s own hooks and for nothing else, and the catalogue could not identify which plugin ships it.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01100 $0.01100
Opus 5 $0.00550 $0.00550
Sonnet 5 $0.00220 $0.00220
Haiku 4.5 $0.00110 $0.00110

Measured 8d ago against content hash e0f58372a88b, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-08, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

skills CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

This repository is a Claude Code plugin marketplace that catalogs multiple plugins. Each plugin bundles one or more Agent Skills.

Agent Skills Pattern

Skills are model-invoked, and can also be invoked directly via the plugin namespace. Claude discovers them via:

  1. Personal: ~/.claude/skills/
  2. Project: .claude/skills/
  3. Plugin: Bundled with installed plugins (namespaced as /plugin-name:skill-name)

Skill Discovery: Claude matches user requests against Skill description frontmatter. Be specific about when to use the skill.

Progressive Disclosure: SKILL.md is always loaded; supporting files (reference.md, examples.md, scripts) load only when referenced.

Adding New Plugins / Skills

1. Create Plugin Directory

mkdir skills/your-plugin-name

2. Create Plugin Manifest and Skill

mkdir -p skills/your-plugin-name/.claude-plugin
cat > skills/your-plugin-name/.claude-plugin/plugin.json <<'EOF'
{
  "name": "your-plugin-name",
  "description": "Short description for the plugin manager",
  "version": "1.0.0"
}
EOF

mkdir -p skills/your-plugin-name/skills/your-skill-name
---
name: your-skill-name
description: Clear description of what this skill does and when to use it. Include specific triggers and keywords.
allowed-tools: Read, Write, Edit # Optional: restrict tool access

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
