claude-code-config CLAUDE.md

claude-code-config CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for coding agents from nikeyes/claude-code-config. It costs 305 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of development rules for Claude Code, an AI coding assistant.

In plain words
What is it for?
Guiding test-first changes, code naming, component responsibilities, mock usage, and decisions about when to combine or separate repeated logic.
Why use it?
It gives the assistant clear priorities for readable code, simple designs, focused tests, and avoiding duplicated business logic.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00305 $0.00305
Opus 5 $0.00152 $0.00152
Sonnet 5 $0.00061 $0.00061
Haiku 4.5 $0.00030 $0.00030

Measured 3d ago against content hash 5c7209ebf9d2, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

claude-code-config CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Claude Code Development Guidelines

Core Principles (Priority Order)

  1. Tests Pass: Code must work correctly
  2. Reveals Intention: Self-documenting, readable code with clear names
  3. No Business Logic Duplication: Eliminate redundant business logic (code repetition OK for clarity)
  4. Fewest Elements: Keep solutions simple

Guidelines

Testing

  • Test behavior, not implementation
  • Avoid mocks when possible
  • Write simplest failing test first

Code Quality

  • Descriptive names for everything
  • One responsibility per component
  • English for all code

Duplication

  • Extract when: Same business logic, same purpose
  • Keep separate when: Different intent (create vs update), different contexts (frontend vs backend validation)

Anti-Patterns

  • Tests after implementation
  • Complex tests
  • "Just in case" features
  • Code requiring extensive comments

Decision Framework

  • What's the simplest test that could fail?
  • Does this make intent clearer?
  • Am I repeating business logic that should be unified?
  • Can I remove anything without losing value?

Agent Usage

  • Prefer sub-agents for exploration and research
  • Keep the main context window clean, delegate heavy research

Git Operations

  • When working with git operations, always run git status and git branch first to confirm the current branch, uncommitted changes, and sync state before making any assumptions about the repository state.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
