CLAUDE.md

claude-code-marketplace CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from NikiforovAll/claude-code-marketplace. It costs 511 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A project instruction file for a web dashboard that browses, installs, and manages Claude Code plugins. It documents the project commands, architecture, main files, and code-quality checks.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps develop the Express.js backend and vanilla JavaScript frontend, including plugin browsing, filesystem scanning, search and filters, file views, and plugin management.
Why use it?
It gives an AI coding assistant the project context needed to change the dashboard safely and consistently. It also records how to run and lint the application.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00511 $0.00511
Opus 5 $0.00255 $0.00255
Sonnet 5 $0.00102 $0.00102
Haiku 4.5 $0.00051 $0.00051

Security

Grade A, and why

claude-code-marketplace CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project

Claude Code Marketplace — a web dashboard for browsing, installing, and managing Claude Code plugins across multiple marketplaces. Vanilla JS SPA frontend + Express.js backend.

Commands

npm start # Start server at http://localhost:3542
npm run dev # Start with auto-open browser
npm run lint # Check with Biome
npm run lint:fix # Auto-fix linting issues

CLI flags: --port <number>, --project <path>, --open

Architecture

Two main files compose the entire app:

  • server.js — Express backend. Reads plugin registry from ~/.claude/plugins/, scans filesystem for components, delegates install/uninstall/enable/disable to claude plugin CLI commands. All API routes under /api/.
  • public/app.js — SPA client. Tree view (left panel) shows marketplaces→plugins hierarchy. Detail panel (right) shows plugin info, components, file browser. State managed via globals (marketplaces, selectedPluginId, searchFilter, scopeFilter).
  • public/style.css — Dark/light theme via CSS custom properties.
  • public/index.html — HTML shell with modals.

No build step. No framework. Static files served directly by Express.

Key Concepts

Plugin Scopes: user (~/.claude/plugins/), project (./<project>/.claude/), local (.claude/settings.local.json). Each scope has independent install/enable state.

Components: Skills (skills/), commands (commands/), agents (agents/), then the JSON-file types driven by the JSON_COMPONENTS table in server.js — MCP servers (.mcp.json), hooks (hooks.json), LSP servers (.lsp.json), monitors (monitors.json). Each resolves its path as marketplace entry → .claude-plugin/plugin.json experimental.<key> → default.

Virtual Marketplaces: User and project customizations shown as synthetic marketplace entries from local filesystem.

Caching: In-memory marketplace cache invalidated on plugin operations.

Linting

Biome 2.4.7 — enforced via Husky pre-commit hook on public/app.js and public/style.css. Config: 2-space indent, 120 char width, single quotes.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
