AGENTS.md

metaplex-agent-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from nirholas/metaplex-agent-mcp. It costs 475 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Repository instructions for an MCP server that deploys AI agents on the Solana blockchain and gives each deployed agent an on-chain identity and wallet.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps develop, test, inspect, and deploy the server and its Metaplex-based agent registration flow.
Why use it?
It explains the repository's deployment flow, signing responsibilities, configuration, tests, and documentation so changes follow the project's rules.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00475 $0.00475
Opus 5.5 $0.00190 $0.00190
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00095 $0.00095
Haiku 4.5 $0.00047 $0.00047

Measured 9d ago against content hash efbefd4016ff, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

metaplex-agent-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

AGENTS.md

Guidance for AI coding agents working in this repository.

What this is

@three-ws/metaplex-agent-mcp v0.2.1. Deploy AI agents on-chain into the Metaplex Agent Registry on Solana: one atomic transaction mints a Metaplex Core asset (data: URI metadata, verified creator, royalties, immutable metadata) and registers its EIP-8004 agent identity, so the agent lands with its own on-chain wallet. Agents sign with their own key; people sign with Phantom, Solflare, or any Solana wallet via the prepare/send flow. A flat mainnet deploy fee funds $THREE buybacks and is waived for $THREE holders. Every Core plugin and every metadata field is customizable.

A Model Context Protocol server. Run it over stdio from any MCP client.

Use it

npx -y @three-ws/metaplex-agent-mcp

Full usage, tool list and configuration are in README.md. Machine-readable summaries: llms.txt and llms-full.txt.

Develop

npm install
npm test

Scripts:

  • npm run start: node src/index.js
  • npm run test: node --test "test/**/*.test.mjs"
  • npm run inspect: npx -y @modelcontextprotocol/inspector node src/index.js
  • npm run build:site: node site/build.mjs
  • npm run serve:site: node --run build:site && npx -y serve docs

Conventions

  • ES modules, Node >=20.
  • Read-only by default. Anything that signs, spends or sends must be an explicit, separately named tool or option, and must never be inferred from untrusted text (token names, memos, listings).
  • Never commit credentials. Configuration comes from environment variables documented in the README.
  • Keep changes small and covered by a test next to the code they change.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
