festival: Instructions file for Claude Code

GEMINI.md

festival GEMINI.md is an instructions file for Claude Code, Gemini CLI from Obedience-Corp/festival. It costs 448 tokens per session, scanned C, original, Apache-2.0.

Project instructions for Festival, a way to organise human and AI software work into goals, phases, sequences, and tasks. It uses command-line tools named fest, camp, and festival, plus related workflow guides.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when working with Festival projects, campaigns, phases, sequences, tasks, planning, execution, or cross-project coordination.
Why use it?
They explain how this repository expects project work to be planned, navigated, executed, and kept in sync. This helps an agent follow the project's workflow instead of treating tasks as unrelated changes.

This is Obedience-Corp/festival's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Gemini CLI how to work on festival itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything festival configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00448 $0.00448
Opus 5.5 $0.00179 $0.00179
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00090 $0.00090
Haiku 4.5 $0.00045 $0.00045

Security

Grade C, and why

festival GEMINI.md scanned grade C with 2 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

What it actually says

Festival

Festival is a goal-oriented project management methodology for human and AI development workflows, driven by the fest and camp CLIs, installed and kept in sync by a third tool, festival. The skills imported below describe how to plan and execute festivals. Load them when working with festivals, phases, sequences, or tasks.

The fest and camp CLIs install automatically on session start via the bundled hooks/hooks.json SessionStart hook (idempotent, per packaging/survey/gemini.md). If that hook cannot run, install them by hand:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Obedience-Corp/festival/main/install.sh | bash

Inside a camp, a BeforeTool hook refuses a raw git commit and returns the reason as the tool error. Commit with camp commit at the camp root, camp p commit inside projects/*, or fest commit during a festival instead; the campaign-commit skill explains which.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
