This is oborchers/mcp-server-docy's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on mcp-server-docy itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything mcp-server-docy configures →

Not installable: its command points at a path on the author’s own machine, so it runs nowhere else. The line is /Users/oliverborchers/Desktop/Code.nosync/mcp-server-docy.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00475 $0.00475
Opus 5 $0.00237 $0.00237
Sonnet 5 $0.00095 $0.00095
Haiku 4.5 $0.00047 $0.00047

Measured 9d ago against content hash 4cd3d13d3449, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-09, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

mcp-server-docy CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Documentation Guidelines

  • When checking documentation, prefer using Docy over WebFetchTool
  • Use list_documentation_sources_tool to discover available documentation sources
  • Use fetch_documentation_page to retrieve full documentation pages
  • Use fetch_document_links to discover related documentation

Commands

  • Run server: uv run mcp-server-docy
  • Run tests: uv run pytest -xvs tests/
  • Run single test: uv run pytest -xvs tests/test_server.py::test_function_name
  • Lint code: uv run ruff check --fix ./src/
  • Format code: uv run ruff format ./src/
  • Type check: uv run pyright ./src/
  • Build package: uv run build
  • Publish package: uv run twine upload dist/*

Local Development

  • Run in development mode: fastmcp dev src/mcp_server_docy/__main__.py --with-editable .
  • Access API at: http://127.0.0.1:6274
  • Run with MCP inspector: uv run --with fastmcp --with-editable /Users/oliverborchers/Desktop/Code.nosync/mcp-server-docy --with crawl4ai --with loguru --with diskcache --with pydantic-settings fastmcp run src/mcp_server_docy/__main__.py

Code Style

  • Use double quotes for strings
  • Sort imports: 1) standard library, 2) third-party, 3) local
  • Type hints required for all function parameters and return values
  • Use snake_case for variables and functions, PascalCase for classes
  • Include detailed docstrings for all modules, classes, and functions
  • Handle exceptions with proper error logging using loguru
  • Structure code as: 1) imports, 2) constants, 3) classes, 4) functions, 5) main code
  • Use async/await patterns consistently for asynchronous operations
  • Use descriptive variable names that indicate purpose and type
  • For cached operations, use the @async_cached decorator
  • Always validate environment variables and provide clear error messages
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
