CLAUDE.md

agent-skills CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from odyssey4me/agent-skills. It costs 1,061 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Repository instructions for developing and maintaining a collection of coding-agent skills, including its layout, standards, tests, and error-handling rules.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when adding or changing skills, running validation and tests, following the Agent Skills specification, or preparing releases.
Why use it?
They give contributors a shared way to structure skills and check changes, reducing confusion about where code, documentation, and tests belong.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01061 $0.01061
Opus 5 $0.00531 $0.00531
Sonnet 5 $0.00212 $0.00212
Haiku 4.5 $0.00106 $0.00106

Measured 9d ago against content hash 90dc4dece9a7, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-08, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

agent-skills CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Claude Code Instructions

Refer to CONTRIBUTING.md for development guidelines.

Repository Layout

  • skills/ — Self-contained agent skills (jira, confluence, google, etc.)
  • scripts/ — Development utilities (validation, versioning, pre-commit)
  • templates/ — Starter templates for new skills (api, cli, workflow)
  • tests/ — Pytest suite (one file per skill, 80% coverage required)
  • docs/ — User guide, developer guide, OAuth setup
  • .github/workflows/ — CI (lint/test/validate) and release pipelines

Standards Compliance

This repository implements the Agent Skills specification. All skills follow the standard structure with YAML frontmatter in SKILL.md, scripts in scripts/, and additional docs in references/.

We use Python scripts because the specification supports multiple languages, and Python is better suited for complex API integrations. See docs/developer-guide.md for rationale.

Development Principles

  1. Keep documentation DRY — reference comprehensive guides rather than duplicating content. Link to the specification rather than restating it.

  2. Use lowercase for markdown files unless they're a de facto standard (README.md, CONTRIBUTING.md) or required by the Agent Skills specification (SKILL.md).

  3. Follow the Agent Skills specification — all implementation decisions should reference the specification.

  4. Prefer official CLIs over custom scripts — when an official CLI exists, use it instead of a custom API wrapper. Skills can be documentation-only when the CLI covers all use cases (e.g. gh for GitHub, glab for GitLab, gog for Google).

  5. Default to markdown output format — all skill scripts must output markdown by default. Use ### {title} for item headings, - **Label:** value for metadata, ## {Section} for top-level grouping. Preserve --json as an alternative. Reference skills/jira/scripts/jira.py as the canonical example.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
